Struise-Mikkeller is as we said in the past "Best of two worlds". We delivered an IPA with 130 IBU, but a bitterness hidden the Struise way, counter balanced by maltyness, alcohol and rest sugars. People who do not like Ipa’s will actually be amazed, the general hop bomb addict will not understand, so yes this is a controverse brew... enjoy anyway!

The look is cloudy amber colored with a nice big off white head. The smell is very hoppy, fruits, bready, sweet, nice, citrus, and florals. The taste is earthy, bitterness, flowers, hops, and fruits.

Crushed with Jakebra. Well….american ipas are so much better. This one’s aight. Tasty. Got some hops but not enough. Little subdued, little awesomeness. Somewhere in between awesome and not.

Bottle. Grapefruit and pommegranateseed aroma. Amber, big off-white creamy head. Initial hop wallop, grapefruit, pineapple, pineneedles, herbs. Goes over into a caramelly, flan, light wooden finish, tropical fruit and cheese curd retronasal. Medium body, light sparkly dry mouthfeel.

Hat was!

Grabbed a couple bottles of this at The Dilly Deli in Cincinnati. Pour a golden orange with hop punch up front. Not as smooth as I would like for an IPA but if your a hop head this one chimes in at 130IBU’s so it is a hop monster. Not much balance between hops and malt I personally thought it was a little heavy on the hops for my personal taste but a worth drink none the less.

33cl bottle at Max’s 36h of Belgium. Hazy amber with a big white head. rather rich and intriguing aroma of pastry dough, sweet fruit cake, orange, and fruity hops. Fruity and yeast flavor with orange, mellow fruity hops, tangerine, and a refreshing hop bitterness in the finish. Medium-full body with ample carbonation. Tasted a bit over the hill freshness wise, but also seemed to have rounded out into a fruity, complex, balanced ale with a modest but good hop character.

Bottle pours a light amber color with alot of carbonation. a fluffy head prevails. Herbal notes come through in the nose. Slightly sweet body reminiscent of a saison. Goes down easy. A nice bitterness to match the body.
