A little cloudy. Off white head, about 2 fingers thick with some nice lacing. Nose of floral hops, perfume, citrus candy, some pine bite and caramel. Seems a bit muted/dusty. Flavor is much the same, lacking the assertiveness I have come to love from the style. Much more refined and polite, but I’m not necessarily looking for that in my Double IPA’s. Medium bodied, again a little light to style, missing those huge amounts of hop resin. Still has some nice oily/slick tendencies though. Finish is average length, perfume and floral notes, then some citrus juice and a bit of pine. Just OK for me, considering the immense talent behind this offering. aracauna (2427), Georgia, USA

Slight overripe apple and a bit of mango fruit. Slight caramel to the malt. Good balance. Creamy mouthfeel. Psykling (12), Copenhagen, Denmark
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 18, 2008 Golden, somewhat murky brew. Nose filled with yeast (a plus), sweet and vaguely acidity. Full body, with fine details, without being too extreme in its expression, or in its mouthfil - the alcohol add a nice heat. My dreams were perhaps set at bit higher - but definitly a great belgian. Final note: When adding the leftover yeast from the bottle, the taste turned even sweeter, almost butterscotch! DocHop (278), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 18, 2008 Pours a murky orange amber with a massive off-white head. Aroma is of citrus and floral hops, bread, and soured fruit. Also some caramel malts poke through. Orange citrus flavor at first, the body is a little tart and plain. The bitterness really is hidden, the finish is a little dry with only a mild hop flavor settling out. This is an abomination of the Double IPA. Tastes pretty good, but trying to fill too big of a pair of shoes. riversideAK (2803), Shoreline, Washington, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 18, 2008 Bottle from kp. Thanks man! Aromas of yeast, bubble gum, pepper, citric components such as lemon and lime, as well as a little grass. Cloudy brown orange lots of lace and a thin lasting head. A nice moderate malt flavor combines with yeasty esters and finish with a nice medium bitterness that consists of some citrus, lemon, lime, and pepper. Alcohol makes it’s presence known and provides a nice warming effect. Medium carbonation, rather smooth with a sweet lime flavor left lingering. A little sticky too. I really like Belgian Style IIPA’s. They work very well for me. I like it. BMan1113VR (2958), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 17, 2008 Huge, creamy, off-white head covering a cloudy amber-brown body. Amazingly good lacing and retention. Aroma is dry, spicey, and citrus hops, with nice caramel malts. Very nice and clean taste, plenty of citrus (nearly lime) hops. Malt and alcohol balance the hop bitterness perfectly. Strong alcohol warming. Creamy smooth mouthfeel and light bubbles. moejuck (1172), Ohio, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Jun 16, 2008 Orange pour with plenty of head. The aroma is earthy, grassy, and a hint of caramel--though very faint. The taste is strange to me--bitter, but not a pine or citrus bitterness--very, very earthy and biting. Some spice to this brew as well. Not that enjoyable to me for this style. restless7 (104), Lenexa, Kansas, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Jun 16, 2008 BOTTLE: 50F. hazy pour with perfect thick white head and sediment in brew. Aroma is rather weak with hops characteristics and a hint of caramel and sugar. Flavor is a nice strong, biting hop combined with a long lingering sugary/dry finish. The back of the tongue keeps that flavor long after swallowing.
