Struise-Mikkeller is as we said in the past "Best of two worlds". We delivered an IPA with 130 IBU, but a bitterness hidden the Struise way, counter balanced by maltyness, alcohol and rest sugars. People who do not like Ipa’s will actually be amazed, the general hop bomb addict will not understand, so yes this is a controverse brew... enjoy anyway!

Orange pour with plenty of head. The aroma is earthy, grassy, and a hint of caramel--though very faint. The taste is strange to me--bitter, but not a pine or citrus bitterness--very, very earthy and biting. Some spice to this brew as well. Not that enjoyable to me for this style.

BOTTLE: 50F. hazy pour with perfect thick white head and sediment in brew. Aroma is rather weak with hops characteristics and a hint of caramel and sugar. Flavor is a nice strong, biting hop combined with a long lingering sugary/dry finish. The back of the tongue keeps that flavor long after swallowing.

(Bottle 33 cl) Clear warm amber golden with a nice, dense and frothy off-white head. A somewhat raw aroma hoppiness with a whiff of caramel. Solid malt based body with hints of yeast and spices an a somewhat brutal bitter finish without any greater refinement. 030608

Amber color with a frothy lingering head. Nice cannabis smoke with sweet yeasty tripel aromas. Medium body with a frothy mouthfeel. Same ganga smoke weed flavors at first, then some yeasty and earthy sweet candi sugar flavors in the middle. Has a nice lingering weedy finish. Sweetens up quite a bit as it warms.

Courtesy of OSLO, thanks buddy. Pours hazy deep gold to copper with off white head. Mild complex aramo of spicy hops, sweet berry and cherries mixing with sweet orange juice. Nice interpretation of this US west coast style beer. The taste starts tart with grapefruit attacking at once. It gets a little pine like and even grassy for a moment or two before mild sweet malts enter but don’t interfere with the hoppy onslaught. Seems a bit thin for the style. Nice tasting brew bringing up similarities to orange juice along with tartness in the finish.

Hazed amber color with a tall light ecru colored head. Candi and light spice aromas. Some hints of pine and mango. Citrus, pale malt and light alcohol in the flavors. Some over-ripe citrus in the middle. LIght pepper in the finish and linger.

Cloudy brown. Loads of hops in the aroma. Flavor is similar to many high end ipas with sweet caramel malt and hops, but interestingly here, it is almost like sweet hops and bitter at the same time. Thick, sticky palate. Very good.
