badgerben (3040), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Jun 26, 2008 All hail the generosity of OSLO and Guerde! Dark brown color with a thin tan head. Aroma of cardamom, cinnamon and a sweet, dark malt. The taste... is very tasty. The oak stands out, with vanilla fading to the end. A strong brandy/wine character. Lots of Belgian yeast and breadiness, though not the strong spicy character. Sweet finish. I wish I had a gallon of this to contemplate.
sk8viking (6078), Copenhagen, Denmark Aug 19, 2008 Bottle. A dark brown beer with a beige head. The aroma and taste is of sweet malt, dark fruits, wood and some alcohol. Medium to full body with a sweet fruity finish. daniele (721), Italy Aug 18, 2008 scura poca schiuma non molto persistente note fruttate leggero tannino ed aciduita legno nonn molto amaro l’alcool non pè agressivo ma si beve con calma shintriad (663), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 17, 2008 Beautiful...cloudy head that won’t quit, medium-dark cloudy amber with many white floating yeast bits, a woody, yeasty, spicy, somewhat grassy nose and a clean, somewhat minerally, dry flavour. Like one poster mentioned, a hoppy APA with Belgian Saison similarities, a bit different, definitely special, but not the best from the brewers. Still a great beer though. Defreni (475), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 17, 2008 Flaske. BeerBiker (1159), Odense, Denmark Aug 16, 2008 Dark, dark brown and a good long beige head. Notes of oldness, sourness, old ale style, barrel, bread, but all with a weak attitude, not bad meant. Flavor is stronger with similar notes. Smooth and with a sour and good great finish.
