Commercial Description:
"Vintage 2005"
Our PGR has aged for 24 months on oak barrels and has been bottled for the first time on the 27th of December 2007. The main difference with the Pannepot Reserva is that PGR matured the last ten months on Calvados oak barrels, adding extra complexity to the beer. We dedicate this beer as a tribute to Jeppe & Michael of Ølbutikken in Denmark. Those gentlemen were the first to discover our beers on an International basis back in 2004 and are responsable somehow for our beers being all over the globe since then. As a token of gratitude towards Jeppe & Michael, the first shipment of PGR was scheduled to Ølbutikken so they could be the first to launch its commercialisation.

Bottle 33 cl. 2005 vintage. Dark brown with small pale brown head. Aroma in the beginning liquerice and calvados ? (alcoholic anyway). I´´m uncertain if there is notes of oak, there are some notes that I remember from Amagers oak aged impy stout, but then the oak gives very differens aromas from what can be found in an oakaged redwine. After a while only licorice stands back. Taste licorice, quite seet, dates, figs and some strange acidity, that draws down. After all I think it´s a little better than Pannepot due to a less prominent licorice taste, even though it´s not reflected in my ratings. Gets cloying in the end.

I love all the Struise beers, but this one is a bit too sweet. I much more prefer the straight reserva, as this beer is just too much.

Bottled. Hazy, dark brown with a medium, beige head. Sweet and malty aroma with plums, raisins, prunes, port and some light toffee-notes. Pretty fizzy palate. Some light wood in the flavour along with some licorice ans a lot of sweet, dried fruits.

hazy dark brown beer with some red edges and a very stable light brown foam on top of it. Aroma very complex yet not overpowering. Great mix of malts, chacolat, coffee, brioche, port wine, raisins, vanilla, wood apples and Calvados. Thate is smooth and much lighter than the regular Pannepot. the wood really did make this massive beer more mellow, even more complex and dryer. In the aftertaste there is a more prominent presance of hops and taninns. This is a perfect after dinner beer that you can enjoye for a long time.

33 cl bottle. Pours a murky brownish black with a fairly large, beige head lasting a few minutes. The aroma is very vinous with notes of oak, apples, berries, port and caramel. The taste is sweet with a sour finish. Smooth and rich mouthfeel. Light, prickling carbonation.

Bottled. Murky brown colour with pretty big, longlasting, beige head(tulip glass). Aroma is predominantly from the Calvados, after are waves of oak, berries and fruits. No alcohol detected here - the alcohol is overall nowhere to find. Tad sourish smell, probably from the effect of the apples. The backbone in mouthfeel is surprisingly light(due to the oak), which is good here, I found the other 3 Pannepot very sweet. Apples dominate the flavour, along with a woody tone, that is pleasantly acidic. This is a very good beer, although none from the Pannepot-line is on my top 100-list.

Bottle 2005. Brown color with a beige head. Really vinous aroma with lots of oak in it. Taste is fruity and spicey with plenty of acidity and some warming alcohol.
