Commercial Description:
"Vintage 2005"
Our PGR has aged for 24 months on oak barrels and has been bottled for the first time on the 27th of December 2007. The main difference with the Pannepot Reserva is that PGR matured the last ten months on Calvados oak barrels, adding extra complexity to the beer. We dedicate this beer as a tribute to Jeppe & Michael of Ølbutikken in Denmark. Those gentlemen were the first to discover our beers on an International basis back in 2004 and are responsable somehow for our beers being all over the globe since then. As a token of gratitude towards Jeppe & Michael, the first shipment of PGR was scheduled to Ølbutikken so they could be the first to launch its commercialisation.

Bijna een jaar gerijpt in oude calvadosvaten wat toch een beetje de foedersmaak afgeeft. Het donker amberbier heeft eveneens een lichte candijsmaak een een zachte, moutachtige afdronk. Blijft lang nasmaken

12 oz bottle, via jbrus. Pours a dark amber body with a small foamy light brown head. Nice fruity nose with lots of candi sugar, figs, plum, and oaky notes. The regular Pannepot flavor seems a bit overtaken by the oak, some of the sweet maltiness is lost. Lots of fruitiness and banana esters, peppery alcohol, and caramel. Mouthfeel is full bodied and slightly syrupy with a tannic dryness. Overall, pretty good beer, but I’m not so sure it’s all that different or better than the regular version.

Dark amber color with only a veil of pale brown foam. Aroma is very complex, earthy leather and wood, then fruit, raisin strawberry and apple And after, all the spices. Very well balanced. very good

Bottle @ Monks Cafe 080425. Pours very creamy. Hazy, red-brown. The first sniff is almost a disappointment. Very withdrawn and muddy. Hints of oak, vanilla, burnt sugar and toasted apples, with soft red wine in the background. Vinous and soft, in the typical Struise way. I like the silkiness, but the flavors and aromas are withheld and muddled. There is certainly no wow-factor in this beer. Very confusing beer, I really want to like it, but in never reaches out and connects with me.

Bottle thanks to cgarvieuk. Aroma is sweet, fruity, rich malts, candy sugar, nutmeg, hints of spice and quite a noteable bit of apple. Taste is nice and tasty sweet and drinkable, very good mouthfeel. This is a hot beer man, but like the ordinary pannepot is soo vasty superior(and also better than the reserva), im hazarding a guess that this beer surely is best as it comes and not barrel aged, which in turn reinforses my idea that 99.999999999999% of beers out there are very much unsuited to barrel aging. Im glad i have another 2 bottles as i think i’ll age one and have the other with some friends. Im thinking also now that this may infact be more drinkable, in that it slips down very easy, compaired with the regural pannepot, but the complexity of the spice and malty sweetness is missing.

Bottle. High creamy and long lasting brown head. Very dark almost black red brown body. Coffee aroma with a good deal of hops. The 10% alcohol cannot be spotten in the flavor which is more like a sweet and smooth port wine with low carboration and a short aftertaste. A bit of liquorice can be spotted.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber color with a small off-white head. Has a sweetish malty dark fruit and oak aroma with some hints of chocolate aswell. Sweet malty and slightly yeasty dark fruit flavor with hints of chocolate, also some hints of oak. Warming malty dark fruit finish with some nice hints of oak in the aftertaste.
