Commercial Description:
"Vintage 2005"
Our PGR has aged for 24 months on oak barrels and has been bottled for the first time on the 27th of December 2007. The main difference with the Pannepot Reserva is that PGR matured the last ten months on Calvados oak barrels, adding extra complexity to the beer. We dedicate this beer as a tribute to Jeppe & Michael of Ølbutikken in Denmark. Those gentlemen were the first to discover our beers on an International basis back in 2004 and are responsable somehow for our beers being all over the globe since then. As a token of gratitude towards Jeppe & Michael, the first shipment of PGR was scheduled to Ølbutikken so they could be the first to launch its commercialisation.

Bottle. A dark brown beer with a beige head. The aroma and taste is of sweet malt, dark fruits, wood and some alcohol. Medium to full body with a sweet fruity finish.

Courtesy of ygtbsm94. Thanks for sharing, Brad! Dark brown, creamy light tan head. Rich oaked plum and spiced port aromas ride a brown sugar wave throughout. Dark spiced fruitiness and wood gain a touch of metallic’s upon reaching room temperature. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dark fruit finish. Nice, but seems like it spent more time in the wood than truly necessary…

Aroma: Red fruits, chocolate, Oporto (sweet wine). Very subtile. Appearance: Almost black, very opaque. A fine browny foam lasts for long. Taste: Subtile as its aroma, but mouth-watering. Cramberries, chocolate, figs and wood are the flavours i found. Palate: The best of the beer. A "velvet-ish" sensation caresses your mouth, with its sweet evolving layer. My favourite beer ever (so far).

Bottle. Sweet aroma of berries, wood, malt and a hint of portwine. Deep red colour with beige head. Rather sweet flavour with ripe fruits, chocolate, wine and alcohol. Aftertaste like portwine.

17th August 2008. Opaque dark brown beer. Sweet with a definite coca cola note. Dry finish. Not much else going on. It’s quite drinkable but was expecting much more.

Struise Schooltje Vleteren, also a unique beer. Dark brown in colour, with fine beige mousse. Aroma is more delicate than the original Pannepot and the reserva that i like so much. Its has a touch of apple and a interesting sour edge. aftertaste is pure finesse. Encore Merci Carlos !

Rich dark brown in colour with creamy head. Nose is very maly and fruity at the same time. The beer is smooth on the pallet and has a wide panorama of taste-elements. It has hints of coffee Port-wine, confit-de-pommes, dried fruits and Calvados-brandy. The taste is rich and very refined. This barrel aged version is also less stout like then the regular one. Finish is long, complex, slight sour, malty and bread like. A tuely fine barrel aged beer with a remacable wine like finesse in the end.

From Koelschtrinker via trade. The pour was dark brown with light reddish highlights. A short ring of tan foam. The aroma is dark fruit, light citrus, brown sugar and yeast. The flavor is more vinous and tannic. The wood takes its place alongside some malts, spice and citrus. The mouthfeel is medium in body, the carbonation was just right and the alcohol was warm and welcome. Good stuff.
