Commercial Description:
"Vintage 2005"
Our PGR has aged for 24 months on oak barrels and has been bottled for the first time on the 27th of December 2007. The main difference with the Pannepot Reserva is that PGR matured the last ten months on Calvados oak barrels, adding extra complexity to the beer. We dedicate this beer as a tribute to Jeppe & Michael of Ølbutikken in Denmark. Those gentlemen were the first to discover our beers on an International basis back in 2004 and are responsable somehow for our beers being all over the globe since then. As a token of gratitude towards Jeppe & Michael, the first shipment of PGR was scheduled to Ølbutikken so they could be the first to launch its commercialisation.

From Voldby, DK. Bottled, 051171. Dark brown with small but nice head. Aroma of malt and wood. Flavor is caramel and dried fruit with a tangy note.

Courtesy hopscotch....thanks again Eric! This one pours a crazy looking, cloudy, muddy, golden-tinted mauve color. A swirly tan film with a bubbly edge crowns the top in stark contrast to the massive, billowing foam of the regular Pannepot. The inviting appearance leads into a sweet aroma of figs, raisons, and caramel. Fresh golden apples add a sharp, tart element, while Belgian yeast and funky barrel notes add depth and complexity. In the mouth, the tart apples push their way through the sweeter elements, emerging on the forefront. Soon after, sweeter, figgy, dark fruit notes follow. Finishes with a sour twang that just seems to be a bit out of place. The substantial body is smooth and moderately carbonated, resulting in a nice mouthfeel. This is a very, very good beer, but the regular Pannepot is head-and-shoulders above this version, in my opinion. This is an instance when messing with a good thing just doesn’t pan out as well as one would hope for.

33cl bottle. sampled at An Evening with Pantanap #4. big thanks to tyler for bringing this and not even wanting any of it. very generious indeed! pours hazy brown with creamy biege head. aroma of apples, oak, slightly sour, and some caramel. flavors are slightly sour, appley, caramel, and nutmeg. alc is well hidden but the body is a bit thin. the cavados oak just add a dimension to pannepot that isn’t needed and is over the top. a bit of a watery pannepot just got lost along the extended aging. reserva and regular pannepot is quite a bit better than this. still a fine beer.

Thanks to henrikb for this beauty. Vintage 2005, dark walnut brown pour with a rocky, dirty white head, this is a good looking brew. The oak and calvados influences shine through in the flavor with a slightly sweet-finish. Other flavors I could taste are raisin, and a bit of alcohol. This is very good

0.33 l bottle, vintage 2005. Hazy reddish brown color. Warming, vinous, chocolatey and nutty aroma with licorice and some meaty-woody notes as well. Tart-fruity and vinous flavor with chocolate, gooseberries, raisins and wood. Hint of sharpness from alcohol and tart fruits. Tasty, but I prefer the original which is smoother and not so tart-fruity-berryish.

A huge thanks to guerde & oslo for this gem. The aroma was of the usual pitted fruits and spice I get from any Pannepot, but with the wonderful addition of oak and all it’s associated aromas plus the calvados. In the body, much the same character as the aroma, but the calvados really cuts through. A murky brown pour with faint head.

Bottled (thx Theis). Hazy and very dark brown coloured with a rather large tan head. Very well balanced and quite complex. Notes of ryebread, blueberries, woody dryness, calvados, liqiurice, chocolate and has a somewhat vinous feel.

Bottle. A thin beige cream head slowly fading to a ring of foam. Hazy mahogny body. Wonderful complex aroma of ripe yellow apples, vanilla, marzipan, wood, milk-caramel and raisins. Sweet acidulous fruity, woody and vinous taste. Lots of refined malts and notes om mild caramellish roastiness and brown sugar. Feel very soft and smooth in the mouth. Full-bodied with fruity-acidic end. Near perfection.
