Commercial Description:
"Vintage 2005"
Our PGR has aged for 24 months on oak barrels and has been bottled for the first time on the 27th of December 2007. The main difference with the Pannepot Reserva is that PGR matured the last ten months on Calvados oak barrels, adding extra complexity to the beer. We dedicate this beer as a tribute to Jeppe & Michael of Ølbutikken in Denmark. Those gentlemen were the first to discover our beers on an International basis back in 2004 and are responsable somehow for our beers being all over the globe since then. As a token of gratitude towards Jeppe & Michael, the first shipment of PGR was scheduled to Ølbutikken so they could be the first to launch its commercialisation.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a dense long lasting beige creamy head. Ripe fruit, caramel, spices and balsamico in aroma. Creamy body. Flavour is very fruity and vinous and it contains notes of vanilla, prunes, spices and a bit very pleasant sourness. Great beer indeed.

2005 bottle thanks to cgarvieuk. Pours a light brown color with a medium tan head. The aroma is pure goodness, I could just smell this all night; sweet fruits, some mellow vanilla and wood notes, nice. The taste is excellent; tons of fruity flavors, like some pureed strawberry and cherry, yeast, some french oak flavors also. Awesome. The best part is the amazing mouthfeel; very creamy and full, and so very drinkable. The ABV seems like nothing. Give me this everyday.

(FIRST OFF A BIG THANKS TO MIKETD FOR THE HOOKUP ON THIS)pours a deep dark brown with a nice thick light brown head.as the head rests it leaves walls of thick webbing on the trappist glass.the aroma is balanced and complex.i pick up figs, oak, chocolate, brown sugar, belgain yeast, allspice, and caramel.the flavor is much of the same with the oak shinning through a bit more.seriously complex and delicate.the alcohol is well hidden.this is superb.

Bottle 75cl, Dark brown almost black coloured beer with almost no carbonation and a small off-white head. Roasted alcoholic aroma, light yeasty cookie malty hints. Full creamy palate. Finish is roasted, bitter with some sweet-sour malty hints. Alcohol is present but stays at the background. very nice balanced.

Bottle from miketd - thanks man! Nice looking pour with a raisin/burgundy color and a persistent beige head. Aroma is thick and sweet with apples, bread, a smooth and very inviting oakiness, and some light yeast. Flavor is a nice mix of apples, yeast, vanilla, plumb, oak and light spices. Smooth, woody, and delicious Nice use of the barrel. Really good stuff that I hope will be widely available. Struise rules!

(Bottle) Pours very dark brown with a light brown head. The aroma is extremely complex with tones of dried and fresh fruits like prunes, sticky raisins, dried oranges, apples, pears, plums, oven baked bananas and ripe mashed black cherries. Malty with tones of caramel, toffee and dark juicy bread. Brown sugar and dark bread syrup are also present. Spicy tones of anise, vanilla and hints of fresh herbs and hops. Hints of sal ammoniac, cocoa and milk chocolate. The oak shines through just enough to not disturb balance. The sweetness and the sourish tones completes each other perfectly. The flavour is full of dark fruits, dark caramel, some spices, gingerbread, tart apple cider/calvados with a mild coffee and chocolate background. The beginning is caramel sweet but before the beer gets cloying a sourish blanket of tannins from the oak and the calvados sweeps over your taste buds and takes it down to a pleasant sweet note. The mouthfeel is velvety soft and smooth with a elegant tart and dry finish. The aftertaste is of tannins, grapes, dark sugars, apples and some unsweetened dark fruits. Medium to full bodied. Fantastic and very well made beer, like no other.

2005 bottle shared by BOLTZ7555. Pours a clear brown with minimal light tan head that leaves nice lacing. Nose is port wine, spice and alcohol. Taste is complex with white grapes, yeast, a touch of funk and some sweet brown sugar and oak with a sour black cherry and alcohol finish. Medium bubbly mouth feel. Very good. Thanks for the opportunity Jason!
