Muddy chestnut. Woody aroma with bourbon and toffee notes. Rounded woody character with light toffee. I still find this understated. Light brown. Mapley, with a hint of wood and vague florals (some of Pannepot’s goodness is obfuscated). Hot body, with splashes of fruit, and lush malts. Again, the barrel is getting in the way of my Pannepot. There’s a quality beer buried underneath of this hot imbalance. 6-3-7-3-14 = 3.3 fiulijn (7420), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy

Mild aroma, with sour chocolate, wood, cedar. Good body; there is a caramel and candi sugar flavor, with sweet liquorice; it has a too low bitterness. At the end, there is some warming alcohol feeling. Good, big, but lacking complexity, excitement. KimJohansen (7135), Copenhagen V, Denmark

Finishes light hoppy. Near perfect!!! TBone (6844), Pori, Finland

Dark ruby brown color, small steady beige head, some lace. Aroma of oak, raisins, whisky, calvados and funky sweetie fruits. A bit metallic and sour flavor then dark fruits, oak barrelling notes (vanilla, wood), touch of roasted malts, licorice and darkened apple. Original (over)sweetness of basic Pannepot has diminished and now flavor is dominated by Calvados apple fruityness. This is not really complex beer, but nicely drinkable and propably less than 10% nowadays. Just a bit overrated here too. harrisoni (6830), Ashford, Kent, England
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 4, 2008 Bottle shared at the Struise Farm with Urbain, Mesandsim and Duff. Can I really detect apple on the aroma? Yes I can. Mouthfeel is quite thick in the mouth which is great. It has the original Pannepot characteristics, but with additional flavours and complexity. Cola and apple aroma. I had the chance on the Saturday after ZBF to have a session drinking regular and Reserva Pannepot at The Kulminator and I must admit that the regular is my favourite. It has all the flavours and complexity and character from a beer that I want. At this very high end of world class beer making, it really does just come down to personal taste. Oh and I ended up having 4 or 5 bottles of the regular in one night. Maria (6312), Thisted, Denmark

The aroma is vinous and sweetish with notes of plum, raisin, figs, roasted malt, caramel and only a little wood. The flavour has sweetness and notes of plum, raisin, grapes, figs, roasted malt, licorice, caramel, wood and hints of vanilla. It is vinous and very complex. I prefer the normal Pannepot. faroeviking (6122), BjórtjóðveldiðBjórheimBjórsins, Faroe Islands
