Commercial Description:
"Vintage 2005"
Our PGR has aged for 24 months on oak barrels and has been bottled for the first time on the 27th of December 2007. The main difference with the Pannepot Reserva is that PGR matured the last ten months on Calvados oak barrels, adding extra complexity to the beer. We dedicate this beer as a tribute to Jeppe & Michael of Ølbutikken in Denmark. Those gentlemen were the first to discover our beers on an International basis back in 2004 and are responsable somehow for our beers being all over the globe since then. As a token of gratitude towards Jeppe & Michael, the first shipment of PGR was scheduled to Ølbutikken so they could be the first to launch its commercialisation.

Bottle shared by miketd the Cleveland tasting. Pours a hazy brown color with a yellowish off white head. Aroma is caramel malt, oak, yeast, a touch of sour. Flavors is light sour apple, oak, caramel malt, brown sugar, dark fruits. Medium to full bodied, mild carbonation finished on the sweet side. great stuff, but I still like just the plain ol version the best!

Big thanks to enjoyit for this bottle...for free! Visit his shop if you are in the area....Anyways. Brown pour with a thick brow head. Aroma was oaky with vanilla and thick malts. Flavor was oak, vanilla, peat, pear, and cherry. Slightly sweet finish, highly carbonated mouthfeel.

Bottle (05) from brad. Cheers! Darker in color then I expected decent head. The nose was dark fruits... Taste was also dark fruits, spices, vanilla/oak from the ageing. Creamy texture, a little over carbonated but well balanced. Easy to drink and I enjoyed it but it wasnt as good as the original pannepot. Thanks brad, for the brew!

Thanks to Solan. Aromas of dark fruits, oak and some brown sugar. Flavors are mostly dark fruits and brown sugar with some of the oakiness coming through.

Pours a light brown with a thin off-white head with poor retention but some lace. Aroma of dark sweet apple cider & brown sugar with cinnamon. Tastes much like a toasted apple pie, caramel with apple and cloves, allspice, just a hint of heat from the spices and not much in the way of alco-burn, which is nice, but a bit less complex and spicy than the regular variety. Thin slightly creamy body with ok carb. This is quite subtle and enjoyable, but a bit of a let-down considering its much spicier cousin. Many thanks to Boutip for the trade!

Bottle shared by miketd @ the Clevo tasting, thanks Mike! Dirty brown pour with a yellowed off white head. Aroma of musty malt, candied tart fruits, oak, yeast, a bit of sourness. Flavors of tart apple skin, oak, caramel malt, brown sugar, vinous fruits. Medium body, malty/tart with a tart/woody finish. Really nice brew.

Bottle. Sweet aroma of berries, wood, malt and a hint of portwine. Deep red colour with beige head. Rather sweet flavour with ripe fruits, chocolate, wine and alcohol. Aftertaste like portwine.

[Bottle, thanks Marsiblursi!] Pours cloudy reddish-brown with a small tan head. Really nice aroma--raisins, subdued cinnamon and nutmeg, also quite a bit of fruitiness in there. Taste is slightly tart up front, then a little apple, yeast, oak and calvados. Good, thick mouthfeel with a slightly dry finish. Although this was very nice, I would say that it still isn’t on the level of the regular Pannepot. That having been said, it is better than the Pannepeut or the regular Reserva, and was better than I had expected.
