Commercial Description:
"Vintage 2005"
Our PGR has aged for 24 months on oak barrels and has been bottled for the first time on the 27th of December 2007. The main difference with the Pannepot Reserva is that PGR matured the last ten months on Calvados oak barrels, adding extra complexity to the beer. We dedicate this beer as a tribute to Jeppe & Michael of Ølbutikken in Denmark. Those gentlemen were the first to discover our beers on an International basis back in 2004 and are responsable somehow for our beers being all over the globe since then. As a token of gratitude towards Jeppe & Michael, the first shipment of PGR was scheduled to Ølbutikken so they could be the first to launch its commercialisation.

Drank at l’autre oeil. Cloudy/Murky brown poor with a tiny light brown head. Aromas of licorice, star anise, toffee, apple puré, vanilla, cinnamon, sea salt. Very complexe mouthfeel, incredible balance between bitter and sweet with a slightly sour finish. Flavors of dark acid fruits. Incredibly complexe mouthfeel and flavors... Just a great all around beer. wow!

[2005 Bottle] sent by Ygtbsm94, thanks Brad!! Pours a clear burnt caramel brown with ruby highlights and a medium tan head. Aroma is tart apple skins, caramel, rum soaked raisins, alcohol, fruity yeasty notes, and a touch of sherry-like oxidation. Flavor is very full, but the mouthfeel is a little thin. Lots of tart apple skins, fruitiness of the yeast is much more present than on the nose, some caramel and brown sugar, a hint of alcohol. Finishes with the apple and brown sugar lingering. Very drinkable for a beer this big.

Bottled [2005], pours dark brown with a medium sized beige head. Fine lacing. Short carbonatin. Nose of burned malt, dried, dark fruits, vanilla and mould. Sweet flavour with caramel, dark malt, spices and raisins. Medium to full bodied. It has a rather mild and more sour finish.

Bouteille 330ml (2005).

Big thanks to Mike for this one. Dark ruby to brown color. A thick beige effervescent head is roduced and then fades to a film. Vinous aromas of fruit, along with caramel and toffee. Flavor comes across as intensely sweet. Maple candy comes to mind. Fruity, a bit like grapes, some oak, hints of spices, and a light buttery finish. The sweetness can be a bit stingy on the palate. Very complex and interesting.

Bottle. Dark brown with a nice lasting beige foam. Aromas of wood, sweet caramel, some vanilla, prunes, raisins and roasted coffee. The flavour is freshly sour at first but ended by a complex roasted sweetness.. Taste notes: spices, dark dried fruits, chocolate, wood, cane sugar and coffee.

"(2005)Dark brown body with a thick, THICK cap. Retention is ridiculous. Ugg… unfortunate sour aftertaste that reminds me of a vomit after taste and sweaty feet?!? But some this is not offensive how very odd. Taste on the first sip was ok with a touch of a bloody nose finish. Malts are woody and mildly sweet. Where the hell is the 10% alcohol I can’t detect it at all? Some flavour in here is reminding me of pancakes with a choke cherry syrup poured on top but I have no idea where that would be coming from. the more I drink and the warmer in gets the flavour starts to turn to a red wine with significant oak. Enjoyable beer sweet, sour and filled with wood just like a night at Gullies."

#300. Bottle thanks to MaltOMeal at the Houston Sept. RB tasting.Murky brown color with a nice white head. Nose is mild, sweet and just a bit alcoholic. Taste is sweetish, spicy, very smooth, chocolatey. Thinnish mouth and body. Where’s the alcohol in this-is this really 10%? Very smooth and tasty-a session beer??
