Commercial Description:
"Vintage 2005"
Our PGR has aged for 24 months on oak barrels and has been bottled for the first time on the 27th of December 2007. The main difference with the Pannepot Reserva is that PGR matured the last ten months on Calvados oak barrels, adding extra complexity to the beer. We dedicate this beer as a tribute to Jeppe & Michael of Ølbutikken in Denmark. Those gentlemen were the first to discover our beers on an International basis back in 2004 and are responsable somehow for our beers being all over the globe since then. As a token of gratitude towards Jeppe & Michael, the first shipment of PGR was scheduled to Ølbutikken so they could be the first to launch its commercialisation.

Bottle. Pours dark brown/black with very thick and long lasting beige head. Aroma of raspberry, chocolate, soy. Sweet and inviting like a desert. Complex sweet and fruity taste. Lots of raisins, oak, chocolate and raspberry. Reminds me of port. Smooth and well balanced.

Grand reserva 2005. Bottle. Nearly opaque brown with a thin off-white head. Average retention and lacing. Aroma is wood, caramel, toasted malt, dark fruits, vanilla, brown sugar and liquorice. Flavor is figs, dates, raisins, grapes, molasses, brown sugar, dark honey, alcohol, cookies, spices with a long sweet aftertaste. Full body with a slightly visquous mouthfeel. Awesome!

Got in a bottle at Volo in Toronto. Pours black with a moderate tan head. Aroma is wondrous- lots of candied sugar, sweet malt, definite spices like nutmeg and clove, and notes of plum and raisin. Flavor is exquisite- heavy vinous qualities, but mixes with the belgian sweetness and some roasty parts almost like a porter. Awesome palate, exceptional brew.

2005 Bottle with big thanks to ygtbsm94 for this great bonus brew! Aroma has notes of dark dried fruits, port, oak, spice, and a subtle earthy yeast. Awesome. Dark amber hue that sits black in the sniffer. Average sized frothy off-white head that diminished and left some lace. Flavor is sweet, earthy and a little tart. Palate is medium bodied and soft. Very nice beer that has aged quite well. Very complex beer that opens up quite nicely as it warms. Wonderful.

Courtesy of Hopscotch. Vintage 05. Pours a dark brown with no head. Aroma is mostly spiced apple. Tastes of sour dark fruits, some cinnamon, little caramel. Finishes with a slightly dry taste on the palate.

Thanks again moejuck: Mahogany pour. Very sweet smelling of dried fig, chocolate, oak, malt, and alcohol. Thick and syrupy mouthfeel, a little hot for my tastes, but flavor is complex- almost like a wine.

Bottle 33 cl. 2005 vintage. Dark brown with small pale brown head. Aroma in the beginning liquerice and calvados ? (alcoholic anyway). I´´m uncertain if there is notes of oak, there are some notes that I remember from Amagers oak aged impy stout, but then the oak gives very differens aromas from what can be found in an oakaged redwine. After a while only licorice stands back. Taste licorice, quite seet, dates, figs and some strange acidity, that draws down. After all I think it´s a little better than Pannepot due to a less prominent licorice taste, even though it´s not reflected in my ratings. Gets cloying in the end.
