Commercial Description:
"Vintage 2005"
Our PGR has aged for 24 months on oak barrels and has been bottled for the first time on the 27th of December 2007. The main difference with the Pannepot Reserva is that PGR matured the last ten months on Calvados oak barrels, adding extra complexity to the beer. We dedicate this beer as a tribute to Jeppe & Michael of Ølbutikken in Denmark. Those gentlemen were the first to discover our beers on an International basis back in 2004 and are responsable somehow for our beers being all over the globe since then. As a token of gratitude towards Jeppe & Michael, the first shipment of PGR was scheduled to Ølbutikken so they could be the first to launch its commercialisation.

Poured a murky brown color with a small, light tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of brown sugar, nutmeg, vanilla, caramel malts, light apple, raisins, oak, and a bit of alcohol. Taste of rum soaked raisins, apple, cherries, caramel, dark fruits, vanilla, and oak, with light alcohol in the finish. I think the 05 Reserva has aged better than this one. Thanks Steve for sharing this!

All hail the generosity of OSLO and Guerde! Dark brown color with a thin tan head. Aroma of cardamom, cinnamon and a sweet, dark malt. The taste... is very tasty. The oak stands out, with vanilla fading to the end. A strong brandy/wine character. Lots of Belgian yeast and breadiness, though not the strong spicy character. Sweet finish. I wish I had a gallon of this to contemplate.

Slight shady deep dark red to brown color, medium tan to light brown head. Sweet, spicy and lactic, but mainly alcohol, scent. Also smells butter (almost rancid) and fudge. Vinous, sweet and metallic taste. Lingering metallic aftertaste. A bit acidic. Smooth mouthfeel, low bitterness.
After finished rating I had some nuts with the beer as a snack and quickly realized this beer didn’t go well with it, brought out the metallic notes even more.

Bottle thanks to rciesla for sharing at brianK’s. Pours a deep ruby amber almsot woody with a thin head. Aroma is not as spicy as I expected compared to the other versions- good amoutn of woody winey character with a light medicinal flavor and aroma. Moslty sweet flavor - lots of thick deep sweet caramel malts, along with some fruity ester slike apricto, pear and apple, with some orange zest as well. Pretty smooth on the finish with a light tannin and wine like hint. Nice beer.

Bottle that Craig kindly passed onto me at Cropredy festival 2008, cheers mate, consumed 10-08-08 Strictly speaking this wasn’t my first tasting of the Grand Reserva as I had a couple of little tasters of Loz’s at Delirium, Berussels the other week and at just 4 euros 50 cents I thought it was an excellent price. The nose is quite distinctly different from the regular Pannepot, its woody, a little sour and not unlike an old aged wine with far less of the toffee and buttery sweetness of thge regular version its quite lovely. The colour is still a hazy brown but its not so murky as the Pannepot and appears quite clear at the top although just seperating a little at the edges, in short this beer looks great and betters the original in the beauty stakes. The taste is quite gorgeous, dark molasses, dried fruits, the warmth of the alcohol is still there but a little more refined, nice sweet and sour edge to this, fruity, some toffee again. This is very, very nice but just lacks the depth of flavour and richness of the regular Pannepot in my opinion.

Bottled. Hazy, dark brown with a medium, beige head. Sweet and malty aroma with plums, raisins, prunes, port and some light toffee-notes. Pretty fizzy palate. Some light wood in the flavour along with some licorice ans a lot of sweet, dried fruits.
