Commercial Description:
"Vintage 2005"
Our PGR has aged for 24 months on oak barrels and has been bottled for the first time on the 27th of December 2007. The main difference with the Pannepot Reserva is that PGR matured the last ten months on Calvados oak barrels, adding extra complexity to the beer. We dedicate this beer as a tribute to Jeppe & Michael of Ølbutikken in Denmark. Those gentlemen were the first to discover our beers on an International basis back in 2004 and are responsable somehow for our beers being all over the globe since then. As a token of gratitude towards Jeppe & Michael, the first shipment of PGR was scheduled to Ølbutikken so they could be the first to launch its commercialisation.

On drought at the Waregen beerfest. Deep brown chesnut color and fluffy beige foam on top. Aroma is very complex. roasty notes, bread, figgs, apple, Calvados, wood, peppercake and lots of complex aromas. Taste is slight less fuller than the regular Pannepot but has more fine and complex notes. Athertaste is longlasting and super yummy.

Bottle, 33 cl. Very dark brown color, almost black, wiht great beige to light brown creamy head. Aroma dark malts, alcoholic, bit woody. Full body. Taste is WOW ! This is much better than the Westvleteren 12 ! Dark malts, bit sweet, caramel, little spice, some chocolate ?. Good alcohol warm feeling. Dry alcoholic, bit sweet finish. For Leen and myself the greatest beer on earth !

Tasted 2008-02-16. Bottled 2007. Pours semi clear, dark red/brown with a beige head. Aroma: Sweet, malty with overripe, dark fruits. You can clearly smell the wood! Ditto flavours - slightly sour; very well balanced. Very complex mouthfeel.

I tried this beer on September 12, 2008 at "Smokeless Joes" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a dark brown colour, with a thin light brown head which lasted throughout. The aroma was caramel malt, burnt sugar, some peppery spice, and anise. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, medium carbonated, and had a sharpness on the side of the tongue. The flavour was very sweet with hints of raw maple sugar, dark caramel malts, and some apples and pears. An excellent beer despite when the sweetness is considered.

Bottle, 33 cl. Last friday at Heerlijkheid Waregem; tasting evening with Bob Magerman and Struise brewers ! Very dark brown beer, with beige head. Sweet, dark fruits aroma. Full bodied. Flavour is great. Heaven on earth. Complex, dark fruits, woody, warm alcohol feeling, dry ending. Will taste again hope soon.

hazy dark brown beer with some red edges and a very stable light brown foam on top of it. Aroma very complex yet not overpowering. Great mix of malts, chacolat, coffee, brioche, port wine, raisins, vanilla, wood apples and Calvados. Thate is smooth and much lighter than the regular Pannepot. the wood really did make this massive beer more mellow, even more complex and dryer. In the aftertaste there is a more prominent presance of hops and taninns. This is a perfect after dinner beer that you can enjoye for a long time.

From a lableless 75 cl bottle. Pours a very dark brown beer with a fine light-brown creamy and longlasting foam on top. Aroma is very trappist like(Rochefort) and has lots of different aspects going on. It smells like Coffee, bread, port, sweet dough, raisins apples (Calvados) and wood. Taste is very similar to the aroma. The beer is mild, not to sweet, slight bitter, like coffee bitters and hops. Mouthfeeling is mild and soft malty with a nice touch of wood, dryed sliced apple, some banana and good boos soaked raisins. Not as sweet and a bit more dry as the regular pannepot, but very complex and the afthertaste is superb. Thanks to the Struise guys for letting me taste this one from a champage size bottle.
