Commercial Description:
"Vintage 2005"
Our PGR has aged for 24 months on oak barrels and has been bottled for the first time on the 27th of December 2007. The main difference with the Pannepot Reserva is that PGR matured the last ten months on Calvados oak barrels, adding extra complexity to the beer. We dedicate this beer as a tribute to Jeppe & Michael of Ølbutikken in Denmark. Those gentlemen were the first to discover our beers on an International basis back in 2004 and are responsable somehow for our beers being all over the globe since then. As a token of gratitude towards Jeppe & Michael, the first shipment of PGR was scheduled to Ølbutikken so they could be the first to launch its commercialisation.

Bottled. Dark color, short off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt and candy sugar like the original Pannepot. This one has a hint of oak and calvados. Taste is malty, some sugary sweetness. Alcohol is well hidden. Nice.

Thanks to henrikb for this beauty. Vintage 2005, dark walnut brown pour with a rocky, dirty white head, this is a good looking brew. The oak and calvados influences shine through in the flavor with a slightly sweet-finish. Other flavors I could taste are raisin, and a bit of alcohol. This is very good

2005 bottle
Deep burgundy colour, firm head. Vinous aroma with notes of red berries, liquorice and calvados. Flavour is vinous with sweet notes of malt, currants, sour cherries, calvados, and oak. I can even sense a slight roastiness. The finish is alcohol bitter and warming.

Bottle thanks to OldStyleCubFan: Pours a hazy dark mahogany with a clingy-lacing froth of beige head. Aroma of sweet fruity notes, some doughy caramel malts and Belgian yeast along with oaky apples. Starts effervescent with lively carbonation settling into a sweet caramely maltiness nicely balanced with complex woody character and light fruits. Finishes drier, slightly tart with nice calvados flavor. An enjoyable and well-made brew.

Bottle shared @ jbrus’s place. Aroma has oak, a hint of smoke and calvados. Sweet flavor with caramel, candy sugar, oak, dried fruit and mustard. Vinous aftertaste with porto. An amazing complexity in this great beer.

Dark brown in colour with a thin beige coloured head, good lacing. The aroma is malty, light alcohol, maple, plums, dark fruits, lightly sweet. The flavour is of oak, some maple sweetness, quite malty, plums, raisins, figs, toffee. Sweet mouthfeel, medium body, medium/high carbonation. Finishes lingering, malty and sweet.

Very good stuff, good balance, very well hidden alcohol. I just purchased a case of this beer, wise investment. This should age very well over the next couple of years.

330ml bottle obtained in a trade with henrikb, thanks Henrik.

Bottle Muddy, deep brown body. Lightly brown, creamy head. Very nice appearance. Aroma of sweet malts (caramel), fruits (apple, peach), liquor and wood. Nice complexity in the aroma, but not overwhelming. Moderately bitter, moderately sweet flavour of hops, malts (caramel), cane sugar, ... Nice well balanced flavour with some complexity. Drinks very smoothly (which is the main danger when drinking this beer :) ).

Bottled. Aroma has cognac, malts, dried fruits, some milk. Clear, dark red-brown coloured with a medium, beige head. Taste is sweet, malty with dried fruits, sugar, some subtle hints of oak. Really nice and well balanced.
