Aroma of sweet fruity notes, some doughy caramel malts and Belgian yeast along with oaky apples. Starts effervescent with lively carbonation settling into a sweet caramely maltiness nicely balanced with complex woody character and light fruits. Aroma of sweet malts (caramel), fruits (apple, peach), liquor and wood. Nice complexity in the aroma, but not overwhelming. Moderately bitter, moderately sweet flavour of hops, malts (caramel), cane sugar, ... Nice well balanced flavour with some complexity. Pours dark colour with dark red highlights and lots of lace, off-white head. Aroma: sherry, ok, manipulated yeast, rich. Pours a deep hazy brown with a smaller bubbly creamy off white head. Aroma of molasses, caramel, woody, dark fruits, cherry, toffee, spices and minced meat pie. Flavor was pretty much a match of the aroma.
