Commercial Description:
"Vintage 2005"
Our PGR has aged for 24 months on oak barrels and has been bottled for the first time on the 27th of December 2007. The main difference with the Pannepot Reserva is that PGR matured the last ten months on Calvados oak barrels, adding extra complexity to the beer. We dedicate this beer as a tribute to Jeppe & Michael of Ølbutikken in Denmark. Those gentlemen were the first to discover our beers on an International basis back in 2004 and are responsable somehow for our beers being all over the globe since then. As a token of gratitude towards Jeppe & Michael, the first shipment of PGR was scheduled to Ølbutikken so they could be the first to launch its commercialisation.

2005@Volo, shared with Denver Dave.. Aroma is balsamic vinegar, mixed fruit and brown sugar, inviting murky brown, small tan head. A complexity of flavours, a few being raisins, pitfruits, pomegranates, loads of malt. Medium bodied, sour/tart, dry, yet oh so drinkable, most satisfying. Scrumptious!

Bottled. Dark reddish brown coloured. Light brown dense head. Aroma of prunes, raisins, spice and marcipan. Flavour is quite similar. Very balanced, but also somewhat subdued. Has some sournotes. Medium to full bodied. Alcohol and fruits dominates the end, but a somewhat grapish sourness is there as well. I my book not as elegant and complex as the former versions, but definately still a great beer.

Bottled. Hazy, dark brown with a medium, beige head. Sweet and malty aroma with plums, raisins, prunes, port and some light toffee-notes. Pretty fizzy palate. Some light wood in the flavour along with some licorice ans a lot of sweet, dried fruits.

Poured a murky brown color with a small, light tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of brown sugar, nutmeg, vanilla, caramel malts, light apple, raisins, oak, and a bit of alcohol. Taste of rum soaked raisins, apple, cherries, caramel, dark fruits, vanilla, and oak, with light alcohol in the finish. I think the 05 Reserva has aged better than this one. Thanks Steve for sharing this!

Complex aroma evokes dates, figs, cookie dough, plums, brown sugar, vanilla and some alcohol. Opaque darkest brown body is topped by a decent tan-brown head that recedes slowly to a decent cover with some lacing. Flavour blends oranges with plums, brown sugar, cookie dough, alcohol, chocolate and vanilla. Light underlying sourness and dark malt character that lingers in the aftertaste. Medium full body with very pleasant strong effervescence that prickles the tongue and cheeks. Tulip glass. Cellar temperature. Bottle (2005 vintage) received as a gift in Nov-08. Thanks, MartinT!

Thanks to RadioMGB for this one. Cloudy mahogany, tan head. Nose is caramel, honey, dark roasted malts & hops. Some mint & alcohol. Flavor is reduced maple syrup, alcohol. Woodiness dries it out w. dark fruits & tobacco. Loads of caramel in the finish with some english toffee.

Dark brown with a thin tan ring. Candi sugar nose with light touches of alcohol. Taste begins with a bit of alcohol and has a lot of sweetness. More reminiscent of the original version that the reserva version. Still a bit more mellow than the original and a bit more to my liking. Not as complex but still tastes good, loses some of the spices but the sweetness that seems to characterize this beer is a lot more to my liking.
