Commercial Description:
"Vintage 2005"
Our PGR has aged for 24 months on oak barrels and has been bottled for the first time on the 27th of December 2007. The main difference with the Pannepot Reserva is that PGR matured the last ten months on Calvados oak barrels, adding extra complexity to the beer. We dedicate this beer as a tribute to Jeppe & Michael of Ølbutikken in Denmark. Those gentlemen were the first to discover our beers on an International basis back in 2004 and are responsable somehow for our beers being all over the globe since then. As a token of gratitude towards Jeppe & Michael, the first shipment of PGR was scheduled to Ølbutikken so they could be the first to launch its commercialisation.

WOW. What can I say? Simply mesmerising. A hedonistic smell of cameral; dark chocolate, musty perfume and brown sugar If they could bottle that I’d wear it! Awesome texture. Very dark and robust coffee notes with red elements and a sandy colour at the top. Purely intoxicating. A wonderful brew. I recommend pairing wtih a Rochefort 10. WOW. This is 2006 aged.

Aroma: Red fruits, chocolate, Oporto (sweet wine). Very subtile. Appearance: Almost black, very opaque. A fine browny foam lasts for long. Taste: Subtile as its aroma, but mouth-watering. Cramberries, chocolate, figs and wood are the flavours i found. Palate: The best of the beer. A "velvet-ish" sensation caresses your mouth, with its sweet evolving layer. My favourite beer ever (so far).

(FIRST OFF A BIG THANKS TO MIKETD FOR THE HOOKUP ON THIS)pours a deep dark brown with a nice thick light brown head.as the head rests it leaves walls of thick webbing on the trappist glass.the aroma is balanced and complex.i pick up figs, oak, chocolate, brown sugar, belgain yeast, allspice, and caramel.the flavor is much of the same with the oak shinning through a bit more.seriously complex and delicate.the alcohol is well hidden.this is superb.

This opaque black beer poured with a modest tan head, eliciting a marvelous chocolate and spice aroma. The flavor is subdued and dry, but very delicious, with chocolate, raisin and cinnamon tastes. A very elegant brew.

33 cL bottle. Pours dark brown, murky, almost black. Shows initially a huge light brown head, diminishes into a little lacing and with little alcohol thick curtains on the glass. Aroma is peppery, vanilla, dark malty toned and slight woody. Also quite alcohol dominated aroma, but not burning or unpleasant. Smooth flavour, dark malt/cane sugarish spice notes, caramel, liqourish like toffee, mild raisin note - not sweet though. Mild chocolate note too. Alcohol presence. Finish holds a nice liqourice and alcohol finish, cane sugarish dry woody note into the far finish, smooth and pleasant. WOW.

Bottle.
[shared with BierKönig and sk8viking, thank you for opening one, Jeppe!]
Pours a deep brown with a medium light brown head. Very creamy texture and good lacing (even on a plastic glass). Aroma is lightly sour, wood, caramel, prunes, plums, raisins and some apple notes. Wonderful creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is surprisingly soft, very well-rounded. There is a touch of woody cherries, a touch of chocolate, some roasted caramel. Good viniousness with lots of dried fruits. Wonderful balance.

Bottle. A thin beige cream head slowly fading to a ring of foam. Hazy mahogny body. Wonderful complex aroma of ripe yellow apples, vanilla, marzipan, wood, milk-caramel and raisins. Sweet acidulous fruity, woody and vinous taste. Lots of refined malts and notes om mild caramellish roastiness and brown sugar. Feel very soft and smooth in the mouth. Full-bodied with fruity-acidic end. Near perfection.

Bottle at "Locanda del monaco felice". Inscrutable black with barely no head. Starts with lot of licorice, developing in peppery, coffee, pears, wood casks, toffee, vanilla. Very elegant. In mouth is fantastic, mellow, with no edges, full of flavours. The thing amazed me about this beer is that you could either sip or swallow it, because in spite of that complexity, a strong and rounded body and a 10% abv, it remains very easy drinkable, with no traces of alcohol at all. Fantastic.
