Commercial Description:
"Vintage 2005"
Our PGR has aged for 24 months on oak barrels and has been bottled for the first time on the 27th of December 2007. The main difference with the Pannepot Reserva is that PGR matured the last ten months on Calvados oak barrels, adding extra complexity to the beer. We dedicate this beer as a tribute to Jeppe & Michael of Ølbutikken in Denmark. Those gentlemen were the first to discover our beers on an International basis back in 2004 and are responsable somehow for our beers being all over the globe since then. As a token of gratitude towards Jeppe & Michael, the first shipment of PGR was scheduled to Ølbutikken so they could be the first to launch its commercialisation.

Cloudy dark brown pour with golden highlights. Towering rocky head. Delicious array of aromas beginning with fudgey chocolate and toffee followed by nuances of burnt sugar and spice and fig paste and very subtle oak. Rich malts smooth as silk deliver all of the above on the palate. The finish is uplifted beautifully by an almost tangy subtle funk-acidity suggestive of brettanomyces. There is no suggestion of alcohol heat in mine at all. This is the smoothest and richest 10% ABV beer I have ever had and it is also among the most enjoyable in its approachable complexity. Truly outstanding!

Bottle at home ... Deep Deep brown ... dried fruit and malts ... rich deep fruit tones ... touch of brandy or is it rum ... some coconut some apple ... touch sharp sourness but just a touch ... little alcohol ... little chocolate little drying ... Im so looking forward to head to heading this with a normal Pannepot...
Take 2 ...Ok along side the Pannepot theres not much in it. But the Mouth Feel is just that bit better and just a bit smoother

(Bottle) Pours very dark brown with a light brown head. The aroma is extremely complex with tones of dried and fresh fruits like prunes, sticky raisins, dried oranges, apples, pears, plums, oven baked bananas and ripe mashed black cherries. Malty with tones of caramel, toffee and dark juicy bread. Brown sugar and dark bread syrup are also present. Spicy tones of anise, vanilla and hints of fresh herbs and hops. Hints of sal ammoniac, cocoa and milk chocolate. The oak shines through just enough to not disturb balance. The sweetness and the sourish tones completes each other perfectly. The flavour is full of dark fruits, dark caramel, some spices, gingerbread, tart apple cider/calvados with a mild coffee and chocolate background. The beginning is caramel sweet but before the beer gets cloying a sourish blanket of tannins from the oak and the calvados sweeps over your taste buds and takes it down to a pleasant sweet note. The mouthfeel is velvety soft and smooth with a elegant tart and dry finish. The aftertaste is of tannins, grapes, dark sugars, apples and some unsweetened dark fruits. Medium to full bodied. Fantastic and very well made beer, like no other.

Draught @ Erasmus, Brugge, Belgium. Unclear medium to dark red brown - amber color with a average to large, frothy - creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, dryed dark fruit / berry, raisin, plum, fresh apple ad pear, cask wood, licorice, brown sugar. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, a very complex flavor and smooth. Body is medium to full, texture is oily - creamy, carbonation is soft. Very nice ;o)) (280208)

33 cl bottle, vintage 2005. Almost black color, brown head. Aroma is lovely, with dark and dried fruits. Flavor has the same, with clear notes of oak. Very complex, with a small sourness in the finish. My rating #800.

Pours attractive deep brown with a finger thick tan head. The flavor and nose on this was rich and powerful without being too sweet. Dried fruit, caramel, cherries, vanilla, oak, all blending nicely. Creamy on the palate.
