Commercial Description:
"Vintage 2005"
Our PGR has aged for 24 months on oak barrels and has been bottled for the first time on the 27th of December 2007. The main difference with the Pannepot Reserva is that PGR matured the last ten months on Calvados oak barrels, adding extra complexity to the beer. We dedicate this beer as a tribute to Jeppe & Michael of Ølbutikken in Denmark. Those gentlemen were the first to discover our beers on an International basis back in 2004 and are responsable somehow for our beers being all over the globe since then. As a token of gratitude towards Jeppe & Michael, the first shipment of PGR was scheduled to Ølbutikken so they could be the first to launch its commercialisation.

Bottle shared by miketd @ the Clevo tasting, thanks Mike! Dirty brown pour with a yellowed off white head. Aroma of musty malt, candied tart fruits, oak, yeast, a bit of sourness. Flavors of tart apple skin, oak, caramel malt, brown sugar, vinous fruits. Medium body, malty/tart with a tart/woody finish. Really nice brew.

33cl bottle from olbutikken, CPH. Ohh bwoy, have I looked forward to this?!. Indeed!. Pours dark brown with a nice stable creamy brown head. Aroma is immediatly everything - vinous, sweet, liquiorice, dark dried fruits, caramel, sugar - ohh so lovely. Palate is creamy & smooth. Big smile on my face right now. Liquorice is a bit dominating as it is in pannepeut. Very sticky lips. Warmth, smooth, complex, lovely. This is up there in the absolute best Belgium category! Im blown away! :-)

Bottle thanks to Fonefan. Waiting a long time to try this beer. Went searching in Europe twice with no luck. Pours dark red with a quick diminishing off-white head. Aroma was full of sweet dark fruits with a hint of alcohol. Starts sour and end in a wonderful sweetness. Medium bodied with nice carbonation. Well worth the wait.

(2/27/08) Draught at Hotel Erasmus in Bruges. Very dark brown color, almost opaque, with a medium, slowly-diminishing beige head. Aroma of malt, caramel, some roastiness, some earth, some spices and dark fruits. Sweet flavor of malt and caramel, some oak, some spicy notes and dark fruits. More oak as it gets warmer. Finish feels a bit oxidized. Medium to full bodied. This beer has tons of character and still great drinkability. 8/4/9/5/17=4.3
(2/28/08) Bottle sample at PreZBF@Alvinne in Heule. Dark brown with a light brown head. Aroma of wood, malt, caramel, dark fruits and a bit of spices. Sweet malty flavor with caramel, light wood and some dark fruits. Finishes dry. Full-bodied. Outstanding. This one was even better than from the draught. 9/5/9/5/18=4.6

several 330 ml bottles of this were opened at the recent KW group tasting but i know at least one came from jessem. thats to all who shared. dark brown with a lively tan head, surprising for an ’05. wonderful barrel aged complexity jumps up and fills your nostril as you inhale the beauty. dark fruits with woody notes, some vanilla, very big and bold. the flavour is complex with spice, yeast, candied sugar, dark malts. i could drink a few of these just about anytime. great brew!

Bottle, 33cl - Dark mahogany color, with a small beige head. Aroma is dominated by strong notes of pears, calvados, caramel and with hints of wood. Flavor is malty with notes of oak, caramel and strong hints of pears. Finishes with a slight touch of warming alcohol and a soft bitterness. A very interesting and exciting complex beer!

Bottle pours dark brown with thin tan head. Aroma is wonderful candi sugar, dark fruit, and some oak. Has a medium light mouthfeel with a lot of carbonation. Flavor showcases how this brew shines. It melds beautifully the roasted malt, candi sugar, caramel flavor, dark fruit, with the oak. Overall a very nice brew. One of the best I’ve had in the style.
