| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 30, 2008 Bottle thanks to Puzzl. I think brought back from Belgium. After accumulating enough in my glass as courtesy from a few in the room, just enough to sample and maybe rate. Very good, sweet and a bit oily (could be peoples mouth oils, eww). Still pretty good. Some spices and yeast with a bit of candi sugar. Not much wood in there for me but the fruits and spices are very nice. dmac (1500), Toms River, New Jersey, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Dec 11, 2008 Bottle shared by pineypower thanks a bunch for this retired gem Dean. Pours a deep dark brownish red with a huge frothy super long lasting light beige head. This beer left so much lace on my Double Bastard glass that I couldnt simply rinse it out but it needed a full washing before my next beer. Aroma of dark fruit...raisin plum prune black cherry..brown sugar..yeast..wood..and a touch of butterscotch. Palate was medium body with stronger carbonation and a touch of sourness on the finish. Flavor on this one was some dark fermenting fruit..mainly raisin and black cherry..slight alcohol and wood. Wow was this one nice and complex sort of like that movie Memento I still dont think I understand who did it. TheEpeeist (1481), Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA

Nose is figs, dates and raisin with oak and chocolate. Silky, almost full, body with a light tingle. Taste is raisin, woody apple and toffee. Finishes with hints of cantaloupe. Very smooth but barrel aging has softened the flavor dynamic. Still excellent. Borresteijn (1439), Amsterdam, Netherlands

| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Aug 9, 2007 Courtesy dsnowden. 2006. Very dark brown. Small, creamy tan head. Nose very similar to regular Pannepot (rich and roasty malt, cocoa, spices, light dose of dark berries/fruit) with some subtle oak. Flavor is also very similar- oak adds creamy vanilla nougat and wood with some earth and subtle oak spice- an added layer of richness. Great flavor. Full rich body, creamy with enough carbonation to balance. Amazing how well the palate has held up after 14 months in the oak. I think this brew benefited from being in a barrel that previously had not contained bourbon (would have been good, but not as good). Excellent brew.
