Pours a very dark reddish brown with a small tan head and an intense aroma of ripe fruits (cherries, plums, grapes), caramel, sweet malts, sweet chocolate, honey, liquorice and some spices. The flavor is sweet with more sour notes coming in later on. Notes of toffee, ripe plum, cherries and grapes, oak, candy sugar, cognac, whiskey, brown chocolate and yeast. A long, partly bitter, but more sweet and whiskey-like finish. A great beer! TheCheeseMan (539), Saint Cloud, Florida, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 9, 2007 This one came from Santa!!! Deep chestnut brown, very sexy appearance. Head rapidly vanishes, leaving only a hint of what it once was. All the wornderful aromas are still there, the sugars, spices, raisins, dates, figs, vanilla and yes, oak. Nothing is in your face, yet oddly enough, everything is easily perceived. Flavor is a joy, great mouthfeel, thanks in no small measure to a level of carbonation that seems perfect. I do hope this beer hits the US soon, as one bottle is simply not enough. StFun (534), Indiana, USA

Smells like pancakes and christmas sugar cookies. Dark brown with a thin head. Flavor is musky, dark, and woody. Light spice and an alchohol burn that I could do without. The wood and vanilla dominates as the beer warms up. Nice. finol (519), Nacka (Stockholm), Sweden

| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Aug 6, 2009 The Pannepot Reserva 2005 is a Belgian Ale brewed with spices and aged in oak barrels. In that description alone, there were at least 4 buzz words that make me weak in the knees and set my heart aflutter. Enough blathering, time to get down to business. Or is it pleasure? Or both?
She came to me one lonely afternoon in a translucent brown dress with fringes of hay and a soft collar made of cottony whites. As she holds me in her embrace, her exotic perfume woos with lightly sweet and exquisitely spiced esters. Toasted raisin bread, butter, and cinnamon sugar while maple syrup, brown sugar, and gourmet turtles replete with nuts offer a helping hand. As we dance into the night, our lips are soon drawn together in a show-stopping kiss which leaves me floating on air while her essence lingers long on my lips. Warmth almost immediately starts to permeate my body while cinnamon and raisin bread wait for a drizzle of maple syrup. Each kiss is sweet, warm, and lightly spiced. Faint esters of candied apples with their soft outer sweetness and crunchy apply insides transport me to an olden farmers market where nature’s bounty is celebrated. Our time together cannot last forever; I know this and yet I do not want to admit it. As I bid farewell to my Pannepot Reserva 2005, she leaves me with one last gift of remembrance, dark breads and fruits steeped in spiced rummy oak. Ascendance is nigh.
As you can tell by the year of this particular Pannepot, she ages with grace and aplomb so I will be sure to set aside a few bottles for the years to come when I am finally able to acquire some. If you should be somewhere, anywhere, and have an opportunity to take this beer home with you, please do. Trust me. You will not regret it. Blom (514), Odense, Denmark

The aroma strikes me as very spicy, pretty close to oaked rum with further notes of liquorice and dark chocolate. Going into the flavours I’m suprised by a combination of sweet belgian strong ale and sour ale in the distance. Prunes and dades are present along with cherry, and brown sugar. Figs blend in carrying wood and earthy notes along with it. A fine specimen, but not as good as the regular Pannepot. DalzAle (508), Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA

Dark brown pour, medium carbonation and a wonderful plum and spice aroma. Flavor was intense spice, clove, pepper, brown sugar, raisins and plenty of effervesence. Very good beer, I can only hope to try this again sometime.
