Another great beer, you just can’t go wrong at this festival. Very sweet malty beer, very complex yet smooth. Nevertheless a liked the Grand Reserva even better. But all Pannepots are simply brilliant. bhensonb (4342), Woodland, California, USA

Strong dark fruit aromas over dark malt. Full bodied with mildly frothy carbonation. Flavor is several dark fruits with cola and mild yeast. Darkly fruity, hinting of bitter and not demonstrating heat. It takes time for the oak to come out. Worth the wait. Ungstrup (15343), Frederiksberg, Denmark

A very deer red (bourgundy) beer with a medium sized brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of fruits both dried and fresh, caramel, malt, alcohol, and spices among them cinnamon and cloves, something also reminds me of edible roots. The flavor is very sweet and very powerful with notes of over ripe fruits, spices (cinnamon, cloves and more), caramel, malt, alcohol, and brown sugar leading to a sweet and smooth, but at the same time with a slight dryness from the wood finish. The alcohol runs along and tickles the palate and gives it a nice body. skortila (2905), Bunnik, Netherlands

Murky copper color with a thin head. Big spice aroma, a little cardamom in particular. Flavor has a bit more graininess than the regular. Salt and yeast stand out. The oak is barely noticeable. Very, very fine, but I think I actually like the regular a bit better. sloth (1678), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 12, 2009 Medium sized tan head with good retention and fair lacing. Hazy, brown with a copper hue. Nose is chock full of rather dark fruits, raisins, plums, notes of caramel and berries, light lumber notes and a hint musty, faint alcohol also. Big in body, oily on the palate with a soft carbonation though a light prickly sensation is noted. Fruity flavors, chocolatey notes, wood, light spices, caramel and a nice earthyness. Lightly sweet, fruity finish, alcohol is well represented in a good way, of course ;) A BIG tastey brew thats well worth the price. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jul 16, 2007 (Bottled, 2006 edition, 0.75l@Delirium Café, Brussels) opaque, very dark brown with a medium, foamy and lacy, slightly tanned head. Very malty aroma with oaky vanilla, dark fruit, calvados and hints of alcohol. Sweet and Xmas-spicy, rhummy, milk-chocolatey, maraschino cherry flavor. Quite full-bodied, slightly foamy-carbonated and sticky palate. I have to say, that this is very sweet, and it’s almost hard to finish a half of the 0.75l bottle. On the other hand, it is a very good and enjoyable beer. Oak/calvados aging has not affected the flavor that much (not like in Calva Reserva, for example), but certainly there’s some extra complexity in the form of oaky vanilla etc. Anyway, the basis was already a world-class brew, so... A pleasure to drink (well, even think of :). With the bottle almost finished, the alcohol begins to warm quite a bit. kkearn (1010), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

Poured deep chestnut colored, with a huge, frothy tan head and active carbonation. Earthy, herbal aroma with anise, oak, ginger, yeast, and dark fruit. Flavor of dried fruit, herbs, spice, oak, nuts, and cocoa. Warming alcohol in the finish. Really nice beer, I can’t wait to try it again alongside the other Pannepots (and hopefully the Grand Reserva as well).
