Commercial Description:
The Pannepot Reserva was an idea from my brew collegue Carlo who wanted to age Pannepot in genuine French oak barrels (barrique 225 liters). We have brewed 90HL at the end of 2005 which has been aging on oak ever since (14 months). 30 Hl was bottled Tuesday 8th May 2007. 60Hl has been transferred now to second hand calvados oak vessels and will be bottled again early autumn 2007, we will name that batch Pannepot Grand Reserva. As quality and results rule at Struise, the Reserva was already brewed again and aging on oak.
Latest bottling: april 08

Bottled at 1st Borefts Beer festival, Bodegraven. Another great beer, you just can’t go wrong at this festival. Very sweet malty beer, very complex yet smooth. Nevertheless a liked the Grand Reserva even better. But all Pannepots are simply brilliant.

Bottle shared by Marcus - 2005. Pours a dark rich brown with a frothy tan head. Strong dark fruit aromas over dark malt. Full bodied with mildly frothy carbonation. Flavor is several dark fruits with cola and mild yeast. Darkly fruity, hinting of bitter and not demonstrating heat. It takes time for the oak to come out. Worth the wait.

Celebrating 8500 ratings with the currently 4th highest rated beer. A very deer red (bourgundy) beer with a medium sized brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of fruits both dried and fresh, caramel, malt, alcohol, and spices among them cinnamon and cloves, something also reminds me of edible roots. The flavor is very sweet and very powerful with notes of over ripe fruits, spices (cinnamon, cloves and more), caramel, malt, alcohol, and brown sugar leading to a sweet and smooth, but at the same time with a slight dryness from the wood finish. The alcohol runs along and tickles the palate and gives it a nice body.

3rd LCRBM. Bottle, vintage 2006. Aroma has plums, caramel/toffee malts, raisins, other dark fruits, oak. Taste is sweet with an evolving complex taste sensation. Very malty, very warming, very pleasant. It has caramel malts, some spices (cinnamon), some plums and raisins, dark fruits, cake and oak. Really nice.

Medium sized tan head with good retention and fair lacing. Hazy, brown with a copper hue. Nose is chock full of rather dark fruits, raisins, plums, notes of caramel and berries, light lumber notes and a hint musty, faint alcohol also. Big in body, oily on the palate with a soft carbonation though a light prickly sensation is noted. Fruity flavors, chocolatey notes, wood, light spices, caramel and a nice earthyness. Lightly sweet, fruity finish, alcohol is well represented in a good way, of course ;) A BIG tastey brew thats well worth the price. Bottle procured @statelineliquors.

Bottle thanks to boboski: Dark mahogany amber with a frothy, nicely-lacing dark tan head. Aroma of sweet dark candi sugar and fruity esters with a nice mild oaky complexity and a hint of doughy yeast. Body starts with a nice earthy dark caramelk sweetness balanced with drier oak and lightly spiced with a hint of tartness and alcoholic warmth toward a doughy finish. Effervescent palate makes this seem not as sweet as the regular version.

Syntetic cork
Dark chestnut color with a rocky big head, maybe exaggerated carbonation. Aroma of malt, caramel, some spices and light raisins, woody and sweet. Full bodied, with a powerful caramel flavor, quite sweet, with some woody touch that makes it more complex, and the alcohol is well hidden. Some sweet liquorice is evident mostly at the end. Excellent.

rbesg07, bottled. rich shade of brown with a steady off-white head. aroma of stewed stonefruit and pawpaw, sweet but in a rich and invigorating way - rum, caramel, cinnamon, prune juice. classy stuff
