Aroma is spicy, cloves, cinnamon, fruity, dates, raisins, wood pokes through, and a nice malty smoothness. Flavor is a bit more cohesive than aroma, nice malty sweetness up front with fruity and woody notes towards the end. Finish is velvety, woody and sweet. Subtle alcohol burn too. Very nice. saxo (3680), Højbjerg, Aarhus, Denmark

Pour is a browish/mahogany with a minimal off white head. Aroma of oak, nutty, earth and subtle fruit. Flavor is wood, tartness and candy sugar...very nice. Nice palate, very smooth. I hope this makes it to my area sometime soon. Skinnyviking (4191), Copenhagen, Denmark
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 24, 2007 Bottle. High creamy and lasting light brown head. Black body. Aroma of coffee and caramel and some spices I have difficulty in figuring out. Flavor of roasted malt plus coffee and caramel with fruity notes plus spices. May sound strange but actually the beer gives you a smooth well rounded and pleasant feeling. The high alcohol percentage is very well hidden. jehoey (766), Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 26, 2008 Sampled at Kulminator: Aroma is full of caramel richness, with layers of wood, and sourness. Pours a deep reddish brown with 2 fingers of head. This beer laced very thickly against the glass and even the bottle. Really beautiful to watch as well as drink. Flavor is extremely balanced. Carmel, wood, sourness, and a hefty hop bitterness make this superb, while having caramel flavor this beer is not lacking dryness either. Mouth feel is slightly thick, but not syrupy. Really an amazing beer.

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 30, 2007 Bottle cbus-x graciously shared by moejuck, thanks again Joe! DIrty brown pour with a tan head. Aroma of light oak, booze, light bready malt, candied fruits. Flavors of booze soaked fruits, wood, dry malt, light malt...fairly subtle flavors. Medium body...boozey/malty with a dry finish. Pretty nice, though I think I prefer regular Pannepot a bit better...feels like the the barrell againg muted everything a bit too much. It doesn’t change the fact that it is still damn good. Dedollewaitor (3780), Odense, Denmark
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 3, 2007 Loud Pop! Expectations were high. Dark brown with a red hew & solid head. This is candy for grown ups. Malty, raisin & prune, spicy, nutmeg, alcohol, oak & a slight metallic edge. Full bodied. Soft palate. Very complex. Almost as good as the "regular" pannepot. Long end... henrikb (1305), Aarhus, Denmark
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 24, 2007 Draft - Brown body with an orange touch, big off-white head leaving beautiful lacing; Big very special nose with lots of aroma: camphor, tobacco, a very little red wine like touch to it as well; Very soft carbonation, super soft smooth texture, deep balanced and complex; Long finish where the alcohol really appears like in a Single-Malt whiskey (I mean in the same great way, and off cause not as powerful), lots of smooth complex caramel aromas, tobacco (like in a syrah wine). Amazing beer!
