Mix of blackberry, oaky, cherry and orther fruity notes mixed with a lot of woodsy aromas. As nice as it smells, it tastes even better - all of the wood and fruit that was in the aroma, plus red wine, chocolate, maybe some coffee, too. Very, very good. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

Pours a dark brown with a tan head that leaves pretty lacing. Nose is brown sugar, pitted dark fruits, oak and winter spices, including nutmeg. Strong fruit flavor of plums and figs. Sugar and white pepper give extra levels to this beer. Palate has a rich sweetness and covering mouthfeel. This is a well layered beer...enjoyed every sip. Thanks for sharing Bill. Great look of dark brown pour with good off-white head with notes of oude, oak, vanilla, dried fruits, "old" yeast, spices such as nutmeg, complexity and indeed a world class brew. brentfeesh (1039), Gadsden, Alabama, USA

A great improvement on an already great beer. Creamier than the regular but with the same sharp edge to the finish. Oak and yeast are there and some noticeable spices. Plenty of dark fruit and malt. Prunes and dark fruit with cream all over this fireside delight. Just a nice drink. Crosling (1855), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 26, 2008 Brown colored beer with a firm tan head. Rockin aroma showcases the intricate complexities of Pannepot, with added notes of vanilla, red burgundy and a very light toasted wood. Nose is awesome. Flavor is mildly disappointing. The barrel seemed to mellow and tame the original Pannepot, but it seemed to lose a bit of its flavor intensity and concentration. Doesnt quite have the depth of flavor or body of regular Pannepot. That being said, still a killer brew.
