Commercial Description:
The Pannepot Reserva was an idea from my brew collegue Carlo who wanted to age Pannepot in genuine French oak barrels (barrique 225 liters). We have brewed 90HL at the end of 2005 which has been aging on oak ever since (14 months). 30 Hl was bottled Tuesday 8th May 2007. 60Hl has been transferred now to second hand calvados oak vessels and will be bottled again early autumn 2007, we will name that batch Pannepot Grand Reserva. As quality and results rule at Struise, the Reserva was already brewed again and aging on oak.
Latest bottling: april 08

Darker brown color with a gentle beige head. Aroma has a wonderful mix of dark fruit, gentle oak and vanilla, light spice, and a nice brown sugar mix that all goes into the nostrils like an angel. Flavor is a smooth and hearty mix of brown sugar, vinous fruits, tangy spices, and a good amount of oak. Mouthfeel is superb and seems to last forever. Wow - I’ve been a pannepot fan for awhile, but always felt that the spices and sugar were a tad disjointed. This pulls it all together and becomes my favorite Belgian beer of all time, and one of the best brews ever - hands down.

Bottle @ Delirium Cafe, Brussels. Pours a deep cola color with a brown head. Aroma of cinnamon mixed with dark fruit and other spices. Taste is cinnamon and dark fruit up front with a sweet finish and some woody characteristics as well. This is an absolutely wonderful beer, and just as fantastic as the regular Pannepot. I wish this was more readily available in the USA, but this is just a treasure.

Pours out black with lots of head. Very carbonated. Smells sweet, funky and a little tart. Taste is sweet, fruity, and some funk and wood. Smooth, sticky and mellow. Lots of flavors going on here. Great beer, more drinkable than expected.

On tap at the ZBF festival. A delicious spicy beer. Some choclate taste and also a taste of alcohol. Very ballanced beer and a very fine aftertaste. A must for everyone. Had it also on 75 cl bottle. Now reversa 2006.

Had bottle at Delerium Tremens on 6/22. One of the best beers I’ve ever head. Aroma of dark fruits, dark caramel, spice, and licorice. Taste is even better, sweet, but with notes of wine, wood, spice, and dark fruits. An exceptional, exceptional beer.

Its amazing!!! I received this bottle from by beer director....I cant thank her enough for this one. Pours a dark brown with some red hues when held up to light. Beautiful tan colored head with light lacing. I don’t know if can get more complex than this. Aromas of apple, plum and fig swirl from the glass with a light oakiness. Taste is unreal...apple, plums, vanilla, caramel nutmeg, clove blend with a caramel and coffee maltiness.

Eccellente.

Intens dark brown, chesnut like in colour with red highlights and creamy beige head on top. Aroma is very winelike and refined complex. It has a rich malty character with hints of coffee Port-wine and dried fruits. The taste is full, elegant and very soft. It is less stout like then the regular one but the Quadruple character in this beer is more present. Aftertaste is long, complex soft malty and nicely bread like. A tuely great beer with a longlasting aftertaste.
