Pours hazy deep brown with a huge light brown head. Aroma is wineous, roasted malt, dried fruit, raisins mainly. Flavour is soft malty sweet. Strong fruity and complex profile, really lovely blend. Alcohol makes a short appearance. Slight smoked note and soft malty caramel with a strong alcohol note in the finish. thewolf (5831), Kolding, Denmark

Wow! Pours a dark brown with slight ruby edges. Big fine beige creamy beige head. Aroma is fantasticly complex, vanilla comes as the first impression - oak in itself is difficult to discern. There are plums, raisins, alcohol and belgian sugars. Stunning creamy palate. Flavour is great - the wood enhances all factors in the beer. Vanilla is again very present, prunes, raisins, sugar, some chocolate. Brilliant! eaglefan538 (2403), Wilmington, Delaware, USA

Splendid brew, quite like the original but (did a held back bottle side by side) with some excellent oaky sawdusty notes. The pour was dark orangey-chocolate brown. The head was not as large as the original, but still quite nice and pretty. The aroma was complex, grapes, coriander, cinammon, other spices, light floral elements, apples, some dark fruits, caramel, chocolate, and sawdusty oak. The flavor was full of rich dark fruits, chocolate, grapes, apples, spicing, floral character, full sawdusty oak. The 10+% alcohol was quite smooth. The mouthfeel erred on the malty still side, yet was decent. Thanks, Robert, for making sure I got a bottle!

Black-brown color with creamy head. Aroma is chocolat and malty. Flavor: malty, chocolate, hops and alcohol, a little sourness. complicated, but very good. Dry finish. My friends at ZBF found this the best of the Struise beers. darkguardian (506), Florida, USA

Pours a muddy brown with some reddish highlights and thick big long lasting tan head. Huge nose has plum, raisin, fig but also some heavy wood and slight sour notes. Taste is moderately spicy up front with a sweet chewy caramel middle with dark chocolate covered raisins. Finishes lightly sour with lingering notes of vanilla, chocolate, caramel and brown sugar. Super complex, super amazing. Pannepot is amazing in its own right but this is just a bit better, the slight sourness sets it apart from its normal version. Sweet, big, fruity, thick! chewy, I only wished I had two livers so I could have drank twice as much of this in Belgium. These guys are not only excllent brewers, but really fun guys to hang with. I can’t wait to get my hands/mouth on more of this sweet nectar - gods willing. madsberg (5068), Søborg, Denmark
