This is a very nice beer. It really explodes in your moth and kinda hugs your tounge afterwards. Dark body with a small head of dark foam and sweet smell. It tastes bitter, sweet and spicey with tastes of burned caramell and dried fruit. My last comment on this was: "Delicious!"

2006 bottle found at Bottleworks. Leave it to this region of Belgium to create some of the greatest beers in the world. Pours a deep, dark, murky brown with a thick, light tan head. Smells of dark fruits, some cloves and allspice, a bit of slightly boozy vanilla, and some golden brown sugar. Wonderfully complex flavor. Takes notes from the aroma and adds some roasty malts, a hint of smoke, anise, and some hops as well. Vibrantly carbonated (I swirled a bit of it out), and you’d never guess it was 10%. Ever. Delicious brew.

33cl bottle@home (2007). Pours a cloudy dark reddish brown with a tan head. Alcohol, yeast and dark fruits aroma. Fruity, spiced, vinous flavor. Very complex. Full thick body with a long spicy finish. Generous satisfying beer.

Bottle - 330ml (2006). Pours a dark brown opaque body with low carbonation and a thin, lasting beige creamy head. Rich malty/hoppy aroma with plummy and vanilla hints. Alcohol is well hidden. its complex taste carries plummy, yeasty and coffeeish notes. Ends with robust and warming bittersweet finish. Delightful!

Pours the darkest of dark browns, almost black, with a thin tan head that has a small amount of retention. Aroma is of dark rich fruit and a little bit vinous. Flavour of figs, plum pudding and dark berries. Hearty mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Delicious!

11.2 oz. bottle 2007 edition - Poured dark brown with huge foaming tan head. Aroma - fresh red apples, plums and some yeast. Flavor - spicey on tongue with plum, brown sugar and figs. Palate - heavy mouthfeel with above average carbonation. Finish is sweet and somewhat smokey!? Overall - Fine crafted brew that was a pleasure to drink. I enjoyed the lingering aftertaste and high ABV. is definite plus!!

Opaque dark brown colour. Rich, sweet aroma full of juicy, dark fruits. Flavour is rich and has a nice mix of sweet fruitiness and spice. Alcohol and a hint of liqourice numb the tongue slightly on the finish.

Pours a cloudy brown with a big frothy tan head. Aroma is medium sweet, heavy yeast, raisin, cocoa and spice. Flavor is sweet, milk chocolate, light anise, spices and brown sugar. The yeast blends all of these flavors better than any other beer I can remember in some time. Full bodied with a very creamy texture. The alcohol is virtually invisible in this one. By far the best beer I have had in some time.
