Commercial Description:
Pannepøt (read Pannepeut) is a beer specially brewed and named as a wink to the Danish market presented at the Danish beer festival 'Københavnske Øldage 2006' exclusively at Ølbutikkens stand. It is produced to express the brewers gratitude to all the Danish beer amateurs that drink their products daily. Pannepøt has later been available on draught and bottles at bars and shops in Belgium & Denmark. Since winter 2006, this beer's popularity kept growing in Belgium at such a level that the production today equals Pannepot.

Glistening reddish-mahogany with a small, creamy, short-lived white head. Sugary sweet nose of fruit (berries), caramel, cocoa, and little alcohol... very nice. Full bodied, well-integrated flavor that’s riddled with fruit, some caramel, and a little alcohol. Long-lasting in berries. Though not as potent as the regular version, this stands on its own, especially with the delicate fruit.

Bottle. Poured out of the top when I popped the cap. Poured a hazy amber color with a huge head. Aroma of sweet malt and fruit. Flavor was horribly metallic. Couldn’t find any other notes because the metal taste was so bad. Disappointing.

Tap SB&WF-08 - Unclear ruby amber colored beer with a small dense head. Aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel and ripe fruit. Flavor is very malty and sweet with notes of cherries and caramel. A warming full bodied beer. Very well made!

Brown color with a modest dark beige, a bit fizzy, head. Some fish food swimming in the dark pool. Caramel, dark fruit and herbal hops in the aroma. Dark fruit cake flavors, with dates, raisins, sorghum, walnuts, currants and candi. Herbal finish and rather dry into the linger. Lots of flavor, but not a great deal of depth. Strength is not easily detected. An easy sit by the fire brew.

2006 bottle. Pours dark copper with creamy head. Aroma is spicy and malty. Nutmeg is most apparent, with dark roasted caramel and some pear fruit. Very big and malty body with high carbonation. Clean and malty sweet with christmas spices.

Dark brown/red pour with tan head. Aroma is of yeast, sugar, bubblegum, dried fruits. Flavor is of the same. Fizzy on the palate and very full bodied. After taste is tangy and fruity and lingers. Simply amazing brew.

Pours dark brown out of the bottle and settles into a dark mahogany in the glass. The head is fluffy and off-white and dissipates fairly quickly to a ring with good lacing. The aroma is sweet with dark fruit, plums and raisins, and a bit of candied sugar and roasted malts. There are some spices in the aroma but very faint. The taste is a little less complex than the original version with a little less spiciness and a heavy dose of grape sweetness. There’s a little bit of cola flavor in there as well on top of a roasted malt base with some caramel tones. The mourhfeel is medium bodied with a little less carbonation than the original. There is a little less sour kick on this one and, for me, leads to a slightly more drinkable beer. Either way, this is a slight notch below the original but a great beer on its own.

Bottle: Poured a brown to black color with a medium tan to beige head. The aroma is dark fruit, bubble gum, and some sugar. Taste is more of that dark fruit possibly raisin, with some sugar. Finish is dry and tingly. This lives up to the Struise hype for me!
