But this tastes like Belgian goodness to me. Lots of caramel. Dark. We’re watching Hell’s Kitchen, Season 4, begin, and all I can think of is how this show has become a cartoon. The producers must look for people who can’t cook. A stay at home dad? Amateur entertainment. But this beer....this beer...it is pure taste. Nothing amateur here. No cartoon. Very nice. Spicy and caramelly aroma. Spicy flavor (too spicy) with with a lot of caramel, licorice and some fruitiness. Medium to full-bodied and lively carbonation. Not really balanced but still decent. plovmand (1737), Helsinge, Denmark

Malty at first then comes sweetness from dried fruit like raisins. Like opening a door to a candy store. In my mouth it explodes with a herbal taste surrounded by dark fruits and roastiness. Long finish. Brilliant stuff. IPALover (57), Carlsbad, California, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 27, 2008 Bottle shared by Crosling. Poured a hazy caramel brown color with a thin beige head that left some lacing. Spicy malt aroma with light hints of fruit, plum and grape mostly, and light hops. Lightly tart entry with some light bitterness leads into a spicy (clove mostly), fruity finish with some citrus and raisin. Smooth on the palate with some bite on the finish. Became better as it warmed, something I will have to revisit. Thanks again Nick. tjthresh (1781), Greenfield, Indiana, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 25, 2008 Bottle from MrBendo. Pours opaque iced tea brown with a little bit of brown head. Wow! Wonderful aromas of grapes, sugar and spice, and chewy chocolate and caramel candies. I’m not as enamored with the flavor. Pretty spicy. Clove, and a bit of raisin and alcohol. Medium body. High carbonation. Dry, malty finish. Still a really good beer. Vas19 (299), Maryland, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Mar 24, 2008 2006 Bottle. Pours opaque brown/black with a thick tan head. Aroma is sweet dark fruits. My god this is smooth. Great mouthfeel. Lots of dark fruit taste with a hint of alcohol. Some spice in there too. Really complex. Awesome beer. GMCC2181 (882), Bear/Elkton, Delaware, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 22, 2008 Bottle: Nice dark brown color, small head. Aroma is sweet raison. Taste is caramel, raison, and dried fruit/spices. Sweet and some tart...The texture is medium but a little to much carbonation. I dont remember the pannepot having that much, I wish I did a side by side testing. Just off the top of my head I do believe the pannepot was better, but this beer was still good.
