Commercial Description:
Pannepøt (read Pannepeut) is a beer specially brewed and named as a wink to the Danish market presented at the Danish beer festival 'Københavnske Øldage 2006' exclusively at Ølbutikkens stand. It is produced to express the brewers gratitude to all the Danish beer amateurs that drink their products daily. Pannepøt has later been available on draught and bottles at bars and shops in Belgium & Denmark. Since winter 2006, this beer's popularity kept growing in Belgium at such a level that the production today equals Pannepot.

Bottle: Nice dark brown color, small head. Aroma is sweet raison. Taste is caramel, raison, and dried fruit/spices. Sweet and some tart...The texture is medium but a little to much carbonation. I dont remember the pannepot having that much, I wish I did a side by side testing. Just off the top of my head I do believe the pannepot was better, but this beer was still good.

Notes from side by side with the Pannepot version. Murky brown pour with lighter and smaller head than Pannepot but with some lacing unlike the other. Aroma is sweeter, more caramally. Alcohol still present along with some cocoa and pepper, coffee. Flavor seems sweet and tart at the onset, but then the middle is a bit lacking. at first I liked this a bit more but it didnt develope the complexity of the Pannepot. The bubble isnt as sharp and the body is more creamy on this one.

Without tasting the two Pannepot’s side-by-side, it is difficult to determine if there are significant differences or if the change in rating is based on bias. This, like it’s cousin, was a rich dark leather with solid tan head. Aroma is dark fruits and brown sugar. This one seemed sweeter than its counterpart, but it might be my imagination. Again, the alcohol is well hidden and overall it’s an enjoyable drink!!!

Pours very black with a beautiful inch of smooth, tan head. Aroma of wine soaked plums and yeast. Very complex flavor. Lots of fruit.. plums, figs, prunes. Lots of spices too, too many to even name... but they hide the alcohol very well. Nice creamy texture with a smooth malty finish. Very good beer, i think i need a few more for a complete insight.

(Bottle, Monk’s Café, Stockholm, vintage 2006) Dark brown colour with frothy, pale brown head. Malty, spicy, powerful nose with dried fruit, raisins and prunes. Malty, spicy taste with notes of dried fruit, raisins, spices (nutmeg, cardamom, dried coriander), caramel, toffee and liquorice. Spicy, malty finish. Medium to full body with balanced alcohol notes shining through. Lovely beer!

Pours murky mahogany with short-lasting head. Aroma of pine, caramel, apple cider, plum, raisin, and nice clovey cardamon spiciness. Flavor is nicely sweet with dark fruits being played up quite a bit, balanced by some nice caramel malts and lingering cinnamon spice as well as some musty yeast. Had I not tasted some metalic notes, this would have rated a 9 for flavor. Nice full body and lively carbonation.

Bottle. I must say that this and the Pannepot are becoming favorites. The beer pours brown with a small off white head. The aroma has pine, wood, spices, caramel all there to be enjoyed. The flavor is sweet caramel with the spices adding a nice touch. Finish ismoderately sweet and creamy. This is a beer that reminds me how good beer can be. Maybe a bit sweet for some but I think of this as a great desert beer. I love it.

Pours dark reddish brown with thin frothy tan head that doesn’t last long at all. Aroma is Tobacco and alcohol with other earthy notes. Flavor is complex with dark fruits...plum and molasses, some spice as well. Reminds me both of a barley wine and a port. Nice and warming with the 10% abv. Apples in the finish. A really interesting beer. .
