Commercial Description:
Pannepøt (read Pannepeut) is a beer specially brewed and named as a wink to the Danish market presented at the Danish beer festival 'Københavnske Øldage 2006' exclusively at Ølbutikkens stand. It is produced to express the brewers gratitude to all the Danish beer amateurs that drink their products daily. Pannepøt has later been available on draught and bottles at bars and shops in Belgium & Denmark. Since winter 2006, this beer's popularity kept growing in Belgium at such a level that the production today equals Pannepot.

[Bottle] Pours murky mahogany with a thin fine beige head. Does smell a bit like sherry, but the aroma isn’t very strong comparatively and I’m getting a little bit of metallic. Rich sweet molasses and very nutty. I didn’t know if I could tell the difference, but this seems very much more straight forward than Pannepot and more vacant in body. I also get a little metallic aftertaste from this. This is still really really good stuff, but after having first tried the Pannepot....=p This stuff mellows a bit after 15 minutes or so of air. [Rerate - another 6 months has moved the flavor from a 8 to a 9]

Not as good as Pannepot i dont think, but still great. Aroma of ripe darkfruits, port wine and caramel, flavor is quite sweet, again mainly fruitsy, with alchohol as balance, very enjoyable!

Nowhere as good as the Pannepot. I was afraid I would not be able to tell the difference, but never fear. The difference is huge. Aroma was almost vinous but weak. Pour was a flat murky brown with no head. Taste was a little flat. This tastes more like an old ale. Stale malt with iced tea and caramel with a roasty but dirty aftertaste. Not terrible, but nowhere as complex as the Pannepot.

Tasted at 2008 Woodshop hosted by cquiroga. Free bottle from deftim13. Thanks Tim! Malty darkish amber color. Tried side by side with the Pannepot, Panneput, and Pannepot Reserva. Similar to reserva, and hair less sweet than grand reserva. Very similar. The reservas are a little better.

Bottle, 10%. Slow gusher. Sweet malt aroma, slightly citric and vinous with roasted notes. Very dark brown colour with a red shine. Small light brown head. The flavour is very vinous and quite malty. Quite high carbonation. A sweet beer, but also with some alcohol balancing it well.

Bottle courtesy of Bu11zeye: Poured a deep dirty cloudy brown color ale with a large foamy head with great retention and some good lacing. Aroma consists of bubblegum ester with some candi sugar and some light spices. Taste is comprised of a sweet malt base which is well balance with some bubblegum ester and some light spicy yeast at the end. Very well balance with no apparent alcohol and a full body with great carbonation. I thought it was slightly less complex then the regular version but I would have to do a side-by-side comparison.

Poured from an 11.2oz bottle and served in a trappist glass. This beer poured a dark, muddy brown with a quickly fading head of tan bubbles. Not much lace. The aroma of the beer was made up of dark fruit, caramel, molasses, candi sugar, dates, corriander, and cinnamon. The flavor included caramel covered apples, dusty yeast, light spices, and a hint of alcohol. The mouthfeel was full-bodied and lightly carbonated. Highly drinkable considering the ABV. Complex and tasty!
