Aroma of spice, caramel, brown sugar/chocolate, alcohol and dark fruit. Flavor was really good and complex. Much of the same flavors as found in the aroma. The spice presence was done perfectly; not overly spiced at all. Slightly sweet as well. Nice, smooth palate. Very enjoyable. beerbuzzmontreal (2921), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 8, 2007 Bottle, courtesy of Moejuck. Strong aroma of licorice and yeast. Muddy brown pour with a medium beige head. Flavor of spices, licorice and yeast. The body is light to medium with a liquorous texture and gentle carbonation. Very good, but the yeast is a lot more present than in the regular version where the spices and licorice had more room to express themselves. adrian910ss (1435), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Oct 8, 2007 2006 bottle. Pours a rusty amber color with a medium beige head. Aroma of figs, banana, plums, prunes and nutmeg. Taste is slightly spicy with hints of nutmeg, figs, prunes, plums, candied malts and yeast. A lighter less sweeter and less spicier version than the original Pannepot. Excellent !! jason (1624), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA

Deep brown body with a nice head. Aroma is of plums, figs, dried fruit, oat bread, salami. Taste is really subtle and smooth with all the taste of the other Pannepot just with out all the spice. The plum, dried fruit really add a very gentle like flavor and a smooth creamy mouthfeel make this so incredibly easy to drink.I honestly can not taste any alcohol, that’s how smooth it is. I can see how others may feel a little let down compared to the other version, but this one is well crafted! Bov (5495), Bienne, Switzerland
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 1, 2007 courtesy of fiulijn - pours a hazy ruby-brown colour under an elusive beige foam; malty, woody and spicy (nutmeg) aroma with notes of dried fruits; full-bodied, very sweet and slightly sticky, a decent bitterness but not enough to balance the high sweetness; long sweetish and malty finish with more dried fruits notes lingering Zinister (1207), Houston, Texas, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 29, 2007 Thanks to Papsoe for this great beer (via Kaggie97/Zinister trade). Very nice brown beige color with good head. My favorite aroma...very dark fruits, beligan yeast, malts, candied sugar....yummy. Taste is very medium bodied creamy with all the above and a touch of bitter coffee ends. Love it. uhre (339), Denmark
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 28, 2007 It poors a nice beige head and the beer is dark brown. The aroma is of figs, prunes, candis, malt and a bit of alcohol. The flavor has prunes, alkohol, malt, candis and a bit of coffee too. The palate is creamy and good lasting.
I must admit I was very disapointed - I had just taste the Pannepot oaked version and this was not good compared to that. Not nearly as complex and well-balanced! apoptosis (1316), Long Island, New York, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Sep 27, 2007 Thin, tan head around the sides of the glass only. Nice aroma - roasted sweet potatoes comes to mind. Heavy, wintery fruits are also there. Very full flavored, filled with raisins and plums and prunes. The higher alcohol is very well hidden. It is very thick and meaty. Great mouthfeel. I quite like this beer.
