Deep dark brown colour, initially big light beige head. Aroma is very malty, dark fruits, some marzipan and cherries. Flavour is sweet, malty, raisins, liquorice, a hint of spices. Fullbodied, smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Even better than Pannepot imho, reminded me a lot of St. Bernardus Abt. Good, very good. dcschiller (20), Arizona, USA

Starts strong-malty, not roasty, notes of liquorice and marzipan. A bit spicy finish, well balanced and warming. Really good beer! Thanks to Bierkoning for the bottle! gary07734 (408), Tyne & Wear, England
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | May 25, 2009 Pours black brown with an dissapearing tan head. Aroma is dark and spicy, yeast and some alcohol. Taste is sweet, spicy, cinamon, cumin, dark fruits and roasted malt. Finishes moderately alcoholic. Tried this before trying the Pannepot the day after, and this seems slightly inferior, but an excellent beer nonetheless. fiver29 (732), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
