Commercial Description:
Pannepøt (read Pannepeut) is a beer specially brewed and named as a wink to the Danish market presented at the Danish beer festival 'Københavnske Øldage 2006' exclusively at Ølbutikkens stand. It is produced to express the brewers gratitude to all the Danish beer amateurs that drink their products daily. Pannepøt has later been available on draught and bottles at bars and shops in Belgium & Denmark. Since winter 2006, this beer's popularity kept growing in Belgium at such a level that the production today equals Pannepot.

Fairly thick mahogany pour with a glassy orange edge. Still and silent. Let to sit a very long while, producing only a quiet aroma of green apples with cinnamon and sugar. A thin mist of farmhouse stink, and a touch of strawberry. Tastes dry with dense sweetness. Tart blueberries, baker’s chocolate, temporanillo, and banana. Subtle brown spice. Not especially challenging. Fruit character leaves a bit of a thin impression, and a bit of sprucy bitterness stumbles in. A small seed of oxidation blossoms slowly in the finish, which is long and degenerative. The cardboard smack has a coating of dark, mildly alcoholic sweetness. Smooth. Solid. Thanks, Lou!

Very fizzy out of the bottle, pours brown with foamy head. Malty, fruity to smell with aromas of pepper, chocolate, figs and dried fruit. The flavors are similar to the smell only a little more rounded and pronounced. There is a drying, spiced finish which has a good amount of carbonation. This brew has a nice balanced flavor, and a good texture, while disguising the high alcohol content well. Nice beer.

Brown, no head. Caramel, with brown sugar, spice, and light alcohol in the aroma. Taste is a distinct spiciness, dust, grapes, light alcohol, caramel, seems a little oxidized.

Pours a nice slightly cloudy auburnish brown, with a nice tan head. Super spicy nose and sweet malt with a hintof ripe fruit and pear. Very sweet , but not as much of a depth or complexity of the regular pannepot. Nice, but not as nice as the original.

330ml bottle (Pikkulintu, Helsinki) Dark brown. Sweet alcoholic aroma. Full-bodied sweet malty taste in the mouth, but too alcoholic and unsubtle.

Courtesy of Mgumby. I had wanted to try this beer for quite some time. Pours a deep brown color, with glints of burnt orange around the edges. Aroma is very fruity with a tea -like undertone that I find very enticing, similar to a jasmine or even an oolong tea. The flavor, while excellent, just fails to live up to the hype. Not as much going on as the original, much less complex. I like the beer, but still prefer the "regular" Pannepot to any of the other versions.

11.2oz bottle. 2006 bottle. Aroma: Bready malt, yeast, raisins and bananas, toffee, pumpkin pie spice, alcohol. Some light chocolate as it warms. Appearance: Dark red/brown in color. Light ivory head was full and creamy/foamy with great retention. Beautiful lacing. Flavor: Bready malt, caramel and toffee, yeast. Raisins, cherries, and bananas. Coriander and cinnamon. Light chocolate. A slight sourness throughout. Alcohol is present throughout, but not hot or unpleasant. Sweetish finish with some caramel and fruit carrying over. Palate: Medium-full bodied. Moderate carbonation. Nice alcohol warming over entire mouth. Overall: Regulat Pannepot is my #2 ranked beer, so I was excited to try this. Great beer, but just didn’t seem to have the depth or complexity as the regular version. Still, this is an exceptional beer.

Bottle. Dark mahogony brown with a very little light brown head. Spiced, plum.fig rich malty aroma. Fruity (berry, raisin, fig) flavor with malt and some nice backing spicy yeast. Lingering fruit and spice with a bit of earth. Medium body. Alcohol present if searching, but well integrated and in background.
