Very sweet-malty, nutty aroma with dried fruit. Sweet and grainy-malty, slightly rye-puddingy flavor with mild spiciness, some yeast and a faint hint of tartness. Medium-bodied, quite low-carbonated, smooth palate. A pleasant and malty, but too sweet brew for its kind.
(Bottled, 0.75l) Lost my rating due to error with my browser. Oh well... what I was about to say was, that this was not quite what I expected: pretty sweet and sourish, with even some alcohol present - especially in the aroma. Not on par with the ratings, but of course it may have been a bad bottle, too. ThomasE (5178), Copenhagen, Denmark

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 24, 2007 Bottle. Like the other Pannepot products this is a beer with relatively high light brown creamy head and black boty. Coffee and caramel is dominating but again this is a complex mix of fruits and spices. Still round and pleasant. High alcohold percentage suite the beer in an almost perfect manner. jimhilt (1691), Bow, New Hampshire, USA
| 5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Jun 20, 2007 Pours a five-finger+ light tan pillowy head that fades slowly leaving a good lace. Black color. Sweet spicy nose. Light-medium carbonation and very heavy bodied. Flavor is sweet, spicy and complex; high ABV is hidden. Clean finish. I don’t see anything wrong with it. $5.20 for a 330ml bottle from Tully’s Beer & Wine Wells, Me.

| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jun 20, 2007 Hazy brown beer with soft carbonation and with a great creamy beige foam. Aroma is very Trappist like, Bread, soft sugar, soft spices, nuts, sweet sherry, dried figgs, caramel malts and soft hops. Very different than the other pannepot versions. The taste is again very much Trappist like. Soft caramel, malt snuts, some well hidden spices, honey, bread and some interesting hop bitteres to end with. Cellar themperature is ideal to enjoy this great and tastefull beer. bridge (659), Sydney, Australia
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 16, 2007 Looks like caramel sauce, with a cloudy caramel orange appearance. There’s probably something in that, because it certainly was sweet with a real sugary taste, sort of.... caramelly. Full flavoured, but not as strong as you’d expect from a 10%er. Long lasting and quite satisfying though. oberabcbbsok (686), Hoboken, Belgium

Some coffee, choco-malt aroma. Very well balanced, sweet and mild bitter at the same time. The maltyness carries the alcohol and so well hidden. Long finish of hops, malts and some alcohol.
