Commercial Description:
Pannepøt (read Pannepeut) is a beer specially brewed and named as a wink to the Danish market presented at the Danish beer festival 'Københavnske Øldage 2006' exclusively at Ølbutikkens stand. It is produced to express the brewers gratitude to all the Danish beer amateurs that drink their products daily. Pannepøt has later been available on draught and bottles at bars and shops in Belgium & Denmark. Since winter 2006, this beer's popularity kept growing in Belgium at such a level that the production today equals Pannepot.

Bottle, pours dark brown with a tan head. Aromas of carmel and dark malt. Lighter body with lots of spice and fig. Has a dark fruity finish. Great beer.

bottle. The map Room in Chicago. Deep hazy dark deep chestnut with a large caramel colored head that fades to leave a good centimeter covering that lasts. Aroma is sweet and crammed with dried fruits, taste is sweet.

Bottle at the KW tasting, thanks to Jan Primus.Hazy dark brown, small hazy brown head. Sweet aroma, spicy. Very sweet and spicy taste. Surprisingly very easy top drink. Not near the complexity of the ’05 we had, but still a damn fine beer.

11.2 oz. bottle. Poured deep brown with next to no head. Strong nose with tons of dark fruits present. Slightly lacking carbonation. Sweet sugary, caramel flavor with more dark fruit: raisins, plums, and prunes. Finishes spicy and a bit smokey. Alcohol is well hidden. Not as good as the ’other’ Pannepot.

Bottled. An unclear brown beer with a thin tan head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of brown sugar and spices as well as notes of alcohol. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of brown sugar, alcohol, spices - especially coriander and thyme, leading to a dry spicy finish finish.

bottles shared at tupalev’s KW group tasting. pours dark ruby with a small off white head. nice malt forward nose, fruity and boozy. probably something i would have enjoyed more futher into the tasting. the flavour was well balanced with a nice spiciness, yeast, dark malty fruit. very drinkable despite the 10% abv. a nice brew overall and one id like to revisit.

2006 bottle at Tupalev’s hosted KW tasting. Thanks to whoever brought this. Much paler than the ’05 GR I’ve had, but more or less the same aroma of bizarrness. Flavour is lighter than the ’05, very fruity, peachy, tart and with a finishing lemony zing. Quite a nice little beer but for me it suffers just like it’s darker, older brother from the fact that it just isn’t really my sort of thing. Still a good one, surisingly drinkable and I’m glad to have tried it.

Vintage 2006 Pours garnet brown with amber edging, and a chill haze with fine particulates in suspension. A solid two inch head of dense, beige foam reluctantly settled to a thick skim coat and plenty of whipped lacework. Aromatics lead off with spice-dusted raisins, dark rum, and chocolate-drizzled grape jam. Hints of coriander, nutmeg, white pepper, cloves, and anise. Some brown sugar steps forward as well as a trace of bannana. Finishes with a mild vineous note. Medium bodied, with a creamy mouthfeel and tacky. Lightly chewy and sticky. Grape jam, ripe fruit, rich malt, and spiced rum start the pallet. A warming boozy note quickly steps forward and warms throughout. Tangerines, grape bubblegum, sugar-crusted cloves, plump raisins, and doughy malt follow through. Finishes with a lingering warmth, tacky sugars, and fading spice. I think this one could improve even more with a couple more years in the cellar, minimum. Very much looking forward to the new version, which will be unspiced, and as I recall, a bit drier.
