Oct 23, 2007 A Mes rate: Bottle at home thanks to Carlo and Urbain.
Lovely amber brown colour with a very impressive thin but very tight and grippy white head leaving plenty of lacing in its wake. Slightly burnt aroma with notes of tropical fruit toffee and spice. Fairly heavy sediment following the final pour turrning it very cloudy and topping up the head nicely. Toffee and caramel and sweet stuff up front in the mouth but it almost instantly gives way more tropical fruit and some sharp spicy hops. Lovely delicate prickly warmth to it. May only be 5% but it’s given me a bit of a glow. Nice fruit and caramel finish. Just that little bit different as all Struise beers are. Tasty and drinkable.

Sep 21, 2007 Bottle@Delirium, Brussels. Deep bronze with a small head. Caramel fruit aroma. Flavours are spiced and fruity with hints of peach. I have tasted better from De Struise Brouwers.

Labelled as an amber ale I was surprised to see a golden beer flowing out of the bottle. An immense head. Aroma is sweet and doughy. Flavour is of sweet, spicy bread, but the finish is pleasantly dry.Soft palate, medium body. Not an amber, rather a well-made blond ale.

Sep 19, 2007 Updated: Feb 12, 2008Bottle. Very nice champagne sweet nose, apple esters and slight sourness. Clear golden with a thick fluffy white head leaving nice lacing. Wonderful palate, smooth as silk bringing grape and honey notes, finishing extremely clean.

Hazy orangy red, at first fizzy head, settles to soemthing lighter and more persistent. Sweet malty aroma. Sweet malty taste, slightly nutty bitterness, quite crisp peppery hops and some spicyness from the yeast. Some sourness there too. Kind of like a sweet weak blond, a bit gutless for a Belgian ale. (Had twice, a year apart, came to same conclusion both times.) Horribly over-rated.

Sep 3, 2007 2007 bottle. pours muddy orangeish-amber with white head. just a horrible color. nose is rather fruity with apples and caramel. flavor is raw and fruity, apples, and plums, and nuts. finish is clean and dry with fruits. mouth feel is full. carbonation is low-med. a decent amber with a horrible look.

opaque burnt orange, fine beige head, nice fruity chocolate aroma with a light tart cherry, creamy body, smooth fruity malt flavor, nice light cherry character with a touch of tartness, very mellow flavor making for a very drinkable beer
