Bottle. Cloudy orange with a dense and foamy white head. Aromas of spices, bread, wood and malt. The flavour is spicy with a fruity sweetness and notes of banana. All ended by a lightly sour woody freshness. Soft and and warming mouthfeel..

From 75cl bottle - Beautiful slightly hazy deep amber body, fine sparkle, creamy off white head that could last a little longer; Very fine nutty yeast soft nose with an almost Calvados sharpness and aroma accompanying, very nice; Very soft textured body with a big very soft carbonation, super balanced, could be a little more powerful; Medium long finish with a very special mild alcohol burn, again the Calvados barrel is there. Very interesting and drinkable beer, somehow the barrel or age has taken away the spicy touch (which I like a lot) from the hop and spices in the normal version. I have tasted the small bottle from this year (2008) and find it even better, just havent had the time to rate it yet.

Bottled. An amber beer with sediment floating around under a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of alcohol, spices, and lots of fruit. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of fruit and light notes of spices, leading to a dry spicy finish. I think it need to mature.

Taster – 2008 Great Salt Lake Festivus – Beer Session – Huge flavor great color and finish. This was a beer to try at least once. Me not being a huge fan of Belgian beer this beer was the tops. Spices – clove, coriander, banana and a dried fruit finish this was a fantastic brew. The oak flavor was also very present.
