My rating # 1982: The year I was born. 75cl bottle. Thanks a lot to Jan & Charlotte for sharing this. Pours cloudy amber/orange with a fine stable white head & lacings. Nose is very fine: Yeasty, vinous, woody sweet & fruity. Complex & wauw. Super palate. Smooth, sticky & filling. Alcohol warmth. Crisp! Nice one & up there with the regular Tjeeses!

Muddy orange with a small white head. Fresh and fruity yeast aroma with citrus, pineapple, bubblegum and some herbal hop notes. Flavour is fruity and spicy with alcohol and a slightly tannic dry finish. Tasted opposite the regular Tjeeses, this really lacks in complexity and spiciness.

(6/29/08) Bottle sample at RBESG08 grand tasting in Plzen. Hazy orange color with an off-white head. Aroma is quite hoppy with some citrus and some fruits. Sweet flavor with some malt, light yeasty notes, fruits and some citric bitterness in the finish.

(Bottle) Pours hazy golden amber. The aroma is heavily floral and medium sweet with a complex tropical fruitiness of mango and peach alongside notes of spices, wood and vanilla. The flavour is fruity, floral and woody with notes of vanilla, mango, oranges and yeast. The sweetness is just perfect for the style. The mouthfeel is creamy. Medium to full bodied. A fantastic, near perfect Triple. I love.

750ml bottle. Thanks to miketd for sharing. Aroma: Oak comes through first with notes of vanilla and toasted nuts. Cinnamon, oranges, bananas, yeast, caramel corn, light floral, and alcohol notes. Appearance: Rusty brown in color and cloudy. Off0white head was full and creamy with good retention. Good lacing. Flavor: Very similar to the aroma. Baker’s spices (cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg), apples and oranges, bananas and caramel, oak and vanilla, chocolate and nuts. Alcohol is present throughout. Finishes dry with just a hint of tartness. Palate: Medium bodied and creamy. Medium-high carbonation. Pleasant alcohol warmth in back of mouth. Overall: Another great beer from Struise. The best Tripel I’ve had in a while. Great flavors and complexity.

Bottle from miketd’s tasting

i don’t know how he continues to get such a stellar array of beers but once again Mike came through with a Struisse release that is worth trying. I hope at some point the regular Tsjeeses makes it to the United States so I can see what effect the aging has had on it. This one is worth the hype if you can find it.

Aroma / Appearance - A cloudy brown body swirls fluidly around the glass releasing the smell of banana bread, fruit and malt into the air. Complete in every way there is nothing lacking that I could find.

Flavor / Palate - The first sip was a rich blend of yeast, nuttiness, dark chocolate and a hint of woodiness. The yeasty finish caps off an excellent experience that stands among the best in the world. Hopefully this will be released again in wider circles.

(Bottle 75 cl) Pours a hazy golden with an off-white head. Aroma of fruit and metal and some alcohol. Good full body with sweetish caramel and fruit and smooth and discreet notes of wood. No real bitterness but lots of alcohol. Round, pleasant and complex and definitely more interesting than the original. 290608

Bottled @ RBESG Grand Tasting 2008. Hazy and amber coloured with a rather large off-white head. Very fruity with notes of honey, yeast, spices and quite tart and dry. I - for one - think this beer is somewhat hyped. Not too well balanced.
