From a 75 cl bottle, Loads of yeast cediment in the bottle. Hazy orange golden / amber beer with big white head on top. Aroma is complex, cake like, lots of cereals, bit of cognac, pepper, yeast and fruits. Taste is warming, with a fine caracter of malts, bread, some pepper and fruits, a slight bit of citrus fruits too. Ends with a soft bittering.

16-NOV-2009, bottle @DØE møde, Vanløse. Orange, hazy, high off-white head. Sour nose and under that vanilla, oranges, sour apples, and tons of more stuff. Really complex. Loads of dried fruits, champagne-like carbonation that is quite high. Very very creamy, extremely complex with layer after layer. LOOOOONG aftertaste. Beer of the night.

Pale orange colour with a absolutely huge off-white head. Aroma is caramell and oaky vanilla with spicy and yeasty notes. Moutheel is generous with a proper amount of carbonation to keep things drinkable. Flavours are caramell, wood, vanilla and fruity yeast esters. Rather drinkable with very little sign of the high ABV.

Bottle: Poured a murky beige color ale with a quite large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of fruity ester with some spicy yeast and deep rich Belgian style malt. Taste is also a complex mix between some deep rich Belgian malt with notes of spicy yeast and fruity ester. Body is full with limited filtration and good carbonation with very light alcohol perceptible. Very well done thought abuit too heavy fior my taste and I think I prefer the original over this – oak was kind of subtle.

A - Pours a hazy copper with a single finger of off white head. It then recedes to a thing web and with light lacing. S - Oak, apple, plums, candi sugar, clove, and a bit of alcohol. T - Not as overpowering a the smell would lead on, but definitely more complex than the standard Tsjeeses. Oak, apples and candi sugar, with the spice and alcohol taking the backseat. M/D - Low carbonation gives the beer a sticky full mouthfeel and fits perfect for the overall flavor. The oak aging made this much better than the standard Tsjeeses. Unbelievably drinkable Christmas beer. I just wish I would have bought more bottles. The Belgians definitely have a different take on barrel aging, which usually just lends flavor without over powering it like so many American brewers. All of Struise’s BA offerings have been phenomenal in my book.

Courtesy Jim Richart of Southern Brew News. Tsjeeses with hints of vanilla and wood and no alcohol. Solid holiday brew.

Bubble gummy, light fruits, with a sugary sweetness on the nose. Pours a cloudy golden orange with a thin white head. Very sweet malts, hints of spicy yeast with traces of oaky vanilla. Not bad.

0.33 L bottle. Opaque, dark golden-orange body. Low beige head fading to filmy layer of foam. A fine fruitiness in the aroma, oranges and lemonade. A noticable yeast scent, some spices, and a pleasant whiff og marzipan and roasted nuts. Taste is medium malty, rounded, both sweet and light sour. Generously spiced. Less bitter than original version. Some subtle wooden notes, and a refined fruitiness underneath. Alcohol well masked. Fat body. Finishes on the drier side, fruity and spicy with a touch of wood. A complex, tasty and well-crafted beer. Very nice indeed.
