Loads of yeast sitting at the bottom of the bottle. The beer pours a fantastic orange and reddish color and the beautiful off white head stay for ever on this most aromatic nectar. The smell is very complex with lots of cookie aromas touches of nuts, honey, spices (?), red berries, wood, wet dog, sigarecase, some peppery yeast and ripe peaches. Taste is rich and elegant with hints of bread, croisants, red berries, pits of stonefruits, wood, cedar, mint and soft hops. A rich taste with a dry wood caracter that works perfect. This was the best of the session. airforce1 (61), Atascosa, Texas, USA

Slighty oakk/ woody taste with a subtle spiceness and sweet malt lacing with a hint of hops in the finish. Starfruit, honey, and mild carbonation. Simply beautiful... second only to the Horse! The taste is really penetrating, so I would advise to try this at the end of an evening, since I still tasted it the morning after. It’s just incredible! MrGGen (243), Italy

Outstanding aroma with an interesting hoppyness some agrum, touches violets and brioche like malts. Very tastefull malty body and great complex sensations. The aftertaste is perfect in balans and lingers on due to the selection of crisp hops. It ends with a interesting note of bitter orange peel. Alc is well hidden and the carbonation is perfect. 75cl bottle. Tasted at the Deca brewery with Urbain and Carlo, they invited me in while I was buying some cases Pannepot. Incredibly huge nose of oak wine barrels, red grapes and black cherries... huge tannic nose, dry oak, deep, rich, extremely complex wine character on top of an equally impressive Belgian golden/trippel... but honestly the transformation of this beer from base version to reserva is a miracle... vinous, wondrous, smooth and rich, with a huge, tannic oak wine barrel dryness... amazingly deep and complex, a truly stellar beer. lululegrand (94), gent, Belgium
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jun 21, 2008 Hazy orange-amber colour and foamy frothy white head. Aroma is fruity and very much tripel like. It has fine biscuit and bread accents but also touches of vanilla, wood, spices end fruits. Taste is soft and dry with a good balans. In the taste there are fine accents of fresh baked french brioches, some soft spices and great hints of fruits. the finale is turning dry but in a great way. It ends with a crispy bite of bitter hops.
Thanks Phil for this great bottle.
