Mar 24, 2009 12oz bottle on sale for $7, Jesus is smoking...It smells spicy and herbal sort of like a fantome. Its got a dark orange color and yeasties floating throughout despite a sincere attempt at a careful pour. Tastes like I don’t know what, good but spicy and mysterious (again reminds me of a fantome).

Mar 22, 2009 Bottle. Pours a light orange/amber color with a small off-white with a large number of floaties. Aroma of fruit, candi sugar, spicy yeast, honey, and spices. Flavor is sweet and fruity and slightly bitter with honey, candi sugar, orange zest and mild spices with a medium body and a fairly dry finish.

Mar 17, 2009 a murky orange with lots of large suspended chunks. large fluffy white head. aroma is very tropical with pineapple, apricot and yeast. flavor is peachy, apricot, pineapple, yeast. full bodied. warming palate. bitter finish but slightly sweet. light stingy acidic notes. not really getting the christmas thing though.

Mar 16, 2009 20090316 11.2 oz bottle from State Line. Dirty golden orange color, full of gunk despite having sat in the fridge for a month or so and trying to pour carefully off the sediment. Small but lasting white head. Aroma is spicy and wintry with apricot, clove, honey, ginger aside from the usual Belgian yeastiness. Doughy, sweet, and unctuous at first, but mellowing out to a more spice oriented brew with an increasingly effervescent body. Some barny, muddy flavors, biting clove, bubblegum, teaberry, marzipan. Interesting beer that paired well with my dinner of roast pork with applesauce and potatoes.

Mar 15, 2009 Tap at Spuyten Duyvil. Darkish pour with a touch of marshmallow head. Kind of fishy, waxy aroma. Tough to define flavor, has a weird ginger bread and citrusy wax quality. Very sweet, but unlike Pannepot it isn’t really doing it for me.

Mar 14, 2009 33cl bottle, with thanks to ygtbsm94 for the nice bonus. Pours a cloudy apricot juice color with a medium tan head. Aroma is cookie dough, spices, and candied fruits. Flavor is similar with a variety of fresh and candied fruits and belgian yeast. There’s sure a lot going on here, just not sure all of it worked for my palate. Thanks again Brad!

Mar 12, 2009 11.2 oz bottle. Very murky orange/amber color with a medium sized sudsy white head. Lots of floaties. Sweet malty, doughy aroma with hints of orange marmalade, honey and pepper. Flavor is fairly sweet up front, with just enough bitterness to keep it from getting cloying. When I smelled the beer I didn’t get a strong yeast presence, but it does come out in the flavor. Black pepper, wet straw, oranges are the main flavors with the alcohol becoming very apparent as it warms. Very good and would be even better if not as sweet.
