Commercial Description:
Deep to orange blond abbey triple winterbeer which has been lagered for 8 months on different stonefruits. Tsjeeses was born out of a 5 year brew experience regarding x-mas beer without being capable of finding a suitable name up to now. With the name came a face, a caricature actually, that was drawn on the day Urbain, our brew master and master brewer, drank too many Tsjeeses's. Every time he drinks one, he says "Tsjeeses, what a beer". Therefore the name is more an expression of stupefaction than a curse. We have had already many discussions around the pronounciation of "Tsjeeses". Very close would be that you say "cheeses" or cheese in plural.

Crushed with Jakebra. Kinda fruity aroma, apples, apricots. Not overwhelming though. Flavor is about the same. Rated this one low, but tripels have never been my thing.

Pours a wonderfully hazy bronze-ish color with the lovely "bottle conditioned" appearance I come to expect in good beers. Smells like recently rotted fruit. Strange how that’s actually appealing in a beer. Taste includes some of that fruit, with the spices making an appearance as well. Absoutely great. I’m starting to really like de struise. If it weren’t for the alcohol, which is amazingly well hidden, I’d like to drink a few of these in succession. Very impressive, I would say.

33cl bottle from Parti-Pak Liquors (Indianapolis, IN). Pours a hazy caramel brown color with clearly visible floating particulates. One finger off-white head settles slowly and laces the glass. Aroma is malty and sweet with notes of flowers, caramel, floral hops, honey, molasses, wood, spice. Flavor is sweet and malty with sweet and spice notes, caramel, honey, toffee, floral hops, yeast, bread , and candy sugar. Generally medium body with a sweet and malty finish.

Bottle from West Lakeview. Pours an attractive golden color, though I must have stirred up the yeast cuz there’s tons of floaties. Nice foam head. Nose is super yeasty and bready, pleasant floral hoppy notes and then some very nice fruitiness. Really big mouthfeel, very spicy and the floral/fruity notes extend to the taste as well. Some bitter finish from the hops, tons of alcohol. Not my favorite tripel, but definitely worth trying. Will have to lay one of these down as well... Nice

On tap at Capone’s. Pours a slightly cloudy orange with a small orange head. Aroma of apricot, fig, melon, watermelon, but especially pear. Flavor is the same, quite sweet with lots of fruits and spices too. An interesting and tasty tripel. 7/4/8/4/15 (3.8/5)

Hazy golden look with a foamy white head leaving fine lazings. Sweet fruity aroma with notes of oranges, peach yeast and herbs. Full bodied and complex flavor. Sweet oranges, bitter berries and herbs with a heavy underlying alchohol thats smoothly felt. Great tripel.

300ml - 2008 TSJ #11 - Very sharp spicy nose. Strong Belgian yeast, light hops and holiday sweet bread. Pours cloudy brown with a medium head and great lacing. Lots of floaties. Flavor is breadier and not as spicy. Almost soft and delicate. Warming and comforting. Palate is sweet and spicy. A very nice cold weather holiday brew.

Shared by emacgee - thanks, Ethan! A very big, cloudy orange pour with a handsome frothy head. The aroma is quite quirky, seeming to toggle between an intensely nutty autumnal vibe and something sharper and more grapey. The yeast is spicy but strongly integrated, nothing too overpowering, just a good funky leavening. Strangely, I got a bit of maple on the finish. Weird and complex, I enjoyed this a lot.
