Commercial Description:
Deep to orange blond abbey triple winterbeer which has been lagered for 8 months on different stonefruits. Tsjeeses was born out of a 5 year brew experience regarding x-mas beer without being capable of finding a suitable name up to now. With the name came a face, a caricature actually, that was drawn on the day Urbain, our brew master and master brewer, drank too many Tsjeeses's. Every time he drinks one, he says "Tsjeeses, what a beer". Therefore the name is more an expression of stupefaction than a curse. We have had already many discussions around the pronounciation of "Tsjeeses". Very close would be that you say "cheeses" or cheese in plural.

bottle thanks to andrew who gave this to me just for expressing my desire to try it.... pours a cloudy orangey brown with a persistent white head that accumulate towards the edges..... tons of bready dough and yeast on the nose accompanied by strong sweet and placticky phenols that does not add to much to it. lightly spiced. aroma didn’t do too much for me.... sweet bready, light citrus and finishes somewhat sour which i’m not quite sure where that came from?..... not too good i’m afraid.

The aroma has spicies, yeast, pepper and alcohol. The flavor is acidly or perhaps sour with pepper, yeast and alcohol. It was a disapointing taste.

Bottle courtesy of fonefan: Poured a deep dirty beige color ale with a huge foamy head with perfect retention and some great lacing. Aroma of fruity (peach) ester with a spicy peppery yeast. Taste is also a mix between the very nice fruity ester and the peppery yeast with a dry hoppy finish. Body is full with limited filtration and great carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Maybe a touch too sweet for my personal tastes but a very good example of the style nonetheless.

Sampled blind at "Better Know a Style: Abbey Tripel" tasting. Hazy orange color with off-white head. I found a slight hoppy aroma that might actually be minty with dough and yeast. Flavor is orange, malt, sweet caramel and alc. Heavily carbonated and light to medium body. Really interesting and nice orange.

Fad. Meget skuffende.

Bottle from SL. The pour was pale and hazy yellow/golden, sparkling carbonation, nice initial white head, thinning to a thin covering, steady lacing, nothing fancy, though. The aroma was candied apples and grapes, some floral lavendar/spicing aspects, light grass. Flavor followed suit, candied apples and grapes, grass, faint yeasty notes, dry finish, well attenuated. Sweet-sour interplays going on, far from sweet and cloying, dryness and tartness both keeping things a little balanced. A nice strong golden ale, imo.

Medium sized dirty white head, good retention but lacing is minimal. cloudy, orange colored brew. Nose is lightly citrusy and malty, bready notes, spicey, yeasty. Body is med/light, well carbonated. Lightly sweet malts, hint of caramel, more bready malt flavors, spices and a touch peppery. Lightly sour and acidic. Finish is dry, fruity and lightly puckerin. A nice Trippel. Bottle procured from State Line.

Bottle (330ml) shared with HogTownHarry & tupalev -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a cloudy orange with an average size creamy white head. Nice aroma of caramel, honey, Belgian yeast, floral hops and a touch of spices. Flavour of caramel malt, Belgian yeast, some funk, citrus fruit, light spices and floral hops. Alcohol’s pretty well hidden. Medium bodied. I was not expecting this, this is a really good beer!
