A bit of a gusher here, lost an ounce or two. poured a very cloudy orangish brown body with a nice one inch fizzy off-white head that retained as a thin covering. Nose is heavy syrupy and bready malt with lots of yeast, some caramel, and a little alcohol. A general murkiness abounds. The flavor just seems a little off for a Tripel. Touches of caramel and over-ripe, almost rotten, peach fruitiness overlays lots of yeast and sticky doughy malt. No alcohol flavor up front, but a little on the finish. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with a slight stickiness and moderate fizzy active carbonation. Overall, this just was not my kind of Tripel. Papsoe (15103), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 6, 2007 (Bottle 33 cl) Pours very cloudy amber golden with a creamy, off-white head. Sweetish, fruity nose with a touch of yeast. Medium body with a very smooth mouthfeel. Quite fruity, some overripe accents, lightly vinous - sherry-like - with an underlying tartness. The bitterness is quite discreet. Elegant, but not really what I would expect from a Christmas beer. 051207 SledgeJr (2966), Omaha, Nebraska, USA

Pours a dark gold with a creamy off white head. Has the aroma of freshly baking bisquits in the oven. The first flavor is a mix of Pixie Sticks and 7-Up. This is a very grain-enriched beer. It has the dense fruitiness of pears and apricots. The honey-like nectar is big. There’s a sublime tartness discernable throughout the beer. I’m lovin’ it. bitbucket (2035), Kirkland, Washington, USA

Dolle-like-yeasty aroma with orangey fruitiness and grainy pale malt. Orange-fruity, grainy-malty, pretty yeasty and slightly alcoholic flavor. Quite full-bodied palate with soft, foamy carbonation. Should have sampled without yeast also, but pretty enjoyable. BonVoeux (40), Beveren-Leie, Belgium

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 19, 2007 Murky golden-orange in colour, lingering medium sized white coloured head, some lacing. The aroma was quite yeasty, lots of citrus, apples, light perfume, spice. The flavour was of candied sugar, some yeast, lots of apples, some orange citrus, light spice. Incredibly smooth mouthfeel, medium body, soft carbonation. Finishes long, sugary sweet, very light alcohol. Incredible stuff, so smooth, great sweetness, an excellent Christmas beer.

Pours a slight hazy golden orange blond beer with creamy big thick white head on top. Aroma is very fruity with lots of malts, bread, some nuts and hints of mint. The taste is again very malty with hints of biscuit, bread nuts and lots of fruitiness. Medium bodied, alcohol well hidden and very well balanced. The more you get to the finish, the more the alcohol bites but not overwhelming. Slight hoppy aftertaste.
