Commercial Description:
This blonde and slight sour ale is the result of a research combining Brettanomyces Bruxellensis and Pediococus Cerivisae from Wyeast and some skills out of the Wild Woesten.
Special beer by Struise as a tribute to Lembeek brewers.

THOUGHTS: I was like a Berliner Weisse, a belgian ale and a Flemish Sour had a baby. It’s always nice to find something this different and this good. It was sorta like Rodenbach Light. This was my first Struise and now I need to find another. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a cloudy, dark yellow or very light yellow with great carbonation and an almost non existent, white head that just kept a ring around the glass, but somehow still left fair lacing. The aroma was sour fruit like apple or peach, some spices and just a hint of funk. The initial flavor was lightly sweet, moderately acidic, and sour; while the finish was moderate to heavily acidic and very sour, or better yet tart with an average duration in flavor although the dryness hangs on for a while. There was mostly sour fruitiness, light fruits and slight, if any, funk. The light to medium body was very dry with sorta soft carbonation and a light astringent and dry finish. The finish is so dry it made me wanna just keep sippin’.

11.2 oz bottle. I have recently tried a few really good sours, and I am starting to acquire a taste for them, but I did not care for this one as much. Maybe I was a bit unnerved by the brown smudge on the inside of the cap. Regardless, this poured like apple juice, and smelled similar, but with a big sour nose, and all the brett brings to the bottle. Mildly carbonated, the mouthful was very thin, almost watery. The funk and sour are for sure there, but too watery for me.

11.2 oz bottle purchased from Capones and then another one from a joint out in Pennington. Pours a hazy orangey yellow with a foamy white head and lots of haziness. Aroma of citrus fruit, very funky, some spiceyness in the background, and a good touch of sourness. Thin bodied that is watery but finishes with a good touch of acidity. Flavor is tart and refreshing with lots of funkiness, lemon, sourness and tart. This one really hit the spot on a hot summer day. Good brew and hopefully with some age the brett will really kick in.

Bottle. Cloudy golden coloured with a medium sized white head. Fruity aroma of yeast and brett with spicy and acidic notes. Light acidic flavour of fruits and berries with notes of brett. Tart finish.

bottle - thanks to mcbackus for the trade; pours pale gold with thin white head and slight cloudiness; fruity, lemon, yeast and tour of sour zing on the nose; the sourness is the first flavor to hit; dry finish with considerable sweetness; warm and fuzzy texture with lots of zing again; but the sourness is smoother than the nose suggests; just a tad too tart for me, but very delicious

Bottle, thanxs Omhper. Golden pale appearance. Subtle Brett. Floral funk. Wood is not so present. Not very sour. But very enjoyable nonetheless, just not top-knotch.

Bottle - Apple juice spritzy pour with sour green apple and lemon-orange aroma. Another Belgian Sour that I just can’t seem to quite grasp the complexity. Citrus, sour apples and just not the full body I’m looking for.

Aroma: Barnyard and cherry pie Brett character. Very fruity, pleasant. Appearance: Hazy blond with quickly fleeting white head. Flavor: Moderate sourness, with accompanying fruity/musty brett character. No hop, no malt flavor, dry finish. Palate: Dry finish, light body leads to a sour finish. Overall Impression: Golden ale fermented with Brett and Pedio. That about sums it up.
