Commercial Description:
This blonde and slight sour ale is the result of a research combining Brettanomyces Bruxellensis and Pediococus Cerivisae from Wyeast and some skills out of the Wild Woesten.
Special beer by Struise as a tribute to Lembeek brewers.

Pours a transparent deep golden with a thin, wispy-lacing white head. Aroma of lightly sweet toasty pale Belgian malt with some slight leathery funk and mild acidity. Body starts effervescent and semi-sweet with some bready Belgian yeasty character before finishing with a crisp tartness. The brett character is nice now, but should increase over the next few months. A good semi-sour ale.

Pours a slightly hazy yellowish orange with a tiny white ring around the edges of the glass. This beer has a funky sour aroma, similar to granny smith apple cider. A lot more sourness going on in the aroma as well, but the sour apple stands out the most. Flavor is sour apple, tart and acidic yet, smooth and refreshing. I really like the way the sourness tantalizes the taste buds. Lots of similiarities to other sour lambics i’ve had but at the same time it’s a bit different. Very good and interesting beer.

Pours a burnt orange with no real head. Aroma is funky as is should be. A sweet and sour mix. Flavor cuts really quick with a great sour twang. There is juicy granny smith apple all over my tongue. I really like this beer. And it was just a chance find at Plaza Liquors. They are carrying some new stuff and there it was. Although it was quite pricey, I splurged today.

bottle. pours a hazy pale golden straw color, with a thinnish white head that fades fairly quickly to a film. oooh. my first impression of the aroma was baked apple pie, complete with the cinnamon and the graham cracker crust. searching deeper brings out some pear and citrus notes and a bit of honey malt, but it’s very cidery. it pretty much tastes the way it smells, though the malts come out a bit more, as did the citrus notes (though this may have been a result of the sourness). moderate sour finish, with a tiny hint of acetic acid, and a light sweetness. quite dry as might be expected. goes down really easily, and the acidity makes your mouth water for more the whole time. light medium body with a ton of tiny carbonation, with a kind of coating resinous mouthfeel (i think this rises from the acidic mouth watering). really great stuff. it goes down oh so easily, and the horsey aspect from the brett. is tame enough that i would expect folks who don’t go for any of that to enjoy this. i just love these experimental beers lately. and this is another outstanding one.

Consistently impressed with these guys. They have made some of the best beer I’ve tasted recently. This one is no exception. The yeast and sourness are tame and enjoyable. Some citrus aromas to add some depth to the experience. Once you sip this brew you get a blast of sour and carbonation. That fades some orange and lemon flavors. So tasty and refreshing. Went great with my spicy moroccan chicken.

Bottle and served in my Corsendonk XMAS ale glass: Slightly hazed golden hue with a small frothy head and some lace. The aroma has notes of cherry pits, light brett and lacto acid, oak, grassy hops, green apple and kaffir lime, with a hint of bready malt and wet wheat. The taste starts twangy and acidic with the yeast playing a major factor here. I get a hint of very dry woody and earthy characteristics midsection. Just a touch of hop bitters and wood upon the finish. The mouth feel is sprite and very refreshing, a bit thin-bodied but works for the flavor profile.

A solid brew and this is A SOUR ALE, mikey likey! THX Brent for this bonus bottle in our 2nd trade!

11.2oz bottle, no date from Hi-Time Wines--and who has it when I get back from Cali? Why, John’s Grocery--good thing I stocked up. Clear yellowish amber with a 1/2 finger eggshell head that didn’t take long to fade to a medium ring. Aroma of tart apple skins, leathery brett, and some damp hay. A bit of lemon zest is also in there. Tastes a fair amount more sour than the aroma led on with more of a musty note as well. The tartness makes my mouth water like a mother. There is a soft fruity sweetness that keeps the sourness from getting too crazy. Towards the finish I get a bit of spicy cinnamon or something--dunno what that’s about. Also, it should be noted that there are no vinegar (acetic acid, I think) notes here. Bone dry finish until my salivary glands kick in--minimal bitterness. Light to medium body with low carbonation. Very nice beer--it goes without saying that my gf thinks it’s great.
